ضايقوا المديانيين واضربوهم
vex the midianites, and smite them:

وكان لما صرخ بنو اسرائيل الى الرب بسبب المديانيين
and it came to pass, when the children of israel cried unto the lord because of the midianites,

فقال له الرب اني اكون معك وستضرب المديانيين كرجل واحد.
and the lord said unto him, surely i will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the midianites as one man.

انتقم نقمة لبني اسرائيل من المديانيين ثم تضمّ الى قومك.
avenge the children of israel of the midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people.

فذلّ اسرائيل جدا من قبل المديانيين. وصرخ بنو اسرائيل الى الرب
and israel was greatly impoverished because of the midianites; and the children of israel cried unto the lord.

فاجتمع رجال اسرائيل من نفتالي ومن اشير ومن كل منسّى وتبعوا المديانيين
and the men of israel gathered themselves together out of naphtali, and out of asher, and out of all manasseh, and pursued after the midianites.

واجتمع جميع المديانيين والعمالقة وبني المشرق معا وعبروا ونزلوا في وادي يزرعيل.
then all the midianites and the amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of jezreel.

فاجاب صاحبه وقال ليس ذلك الا سيف جدعون بن يوآش رجل اسرائيل. قد دفع الله الى يده المديانيين وكل الجيش
and his fellow answered and said, this is nothing else save the sword of gideon the son of joash, a man of israel: for into his hand hath god delivered midian, and all the host.

فاعتزّت يد مديان على اسرائيل. بسبب المديانيين عمل بنو اسرائيل لانفسهم الكهوف التي في الجبال والمغاير والحصون.
and the hand of midian prevailed against israel: and because of the midianites the children of israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.

فقال الرب لجدعون بالثلاث مئة الرجل الذين ولغوا اخلصكم وادفع المديانيين ليدك. واما سائر الشعب فليذهبوا كل واحد الى مكانه.
and the lord said unto gideon, by the three hundred men that lapped will i save you, and deliver the midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

فاخذ الشعب زادا بيدهم مع ابواقهم. وارسل سائر رجال اسرائيل كل واحد الى خيمته وأمسك الثلاث مئة الرجل. وكانت محلّة المديانيين تحته في الوادي
so the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of midian was beneath him in the valley.

فارسل جدعون رسلا الى كل جبل افرايم قائلا انزلوا للقاء المديانيين وخذوا منهم المياه الى بيت بارة والاردن. فاجتمع كل رجال افرايم واخذوا المياه الى بيت بارة والاردن.
and gideon sent messengers throughout all mount ephraim, saying, come down against the midianites, and take before them the waters unto beth-barah and jordan. then all the men of ephraim gathered themselves together, and took the waters unto beth-barah and jordan.
