the financial system has long recognized debt as a convenient financial instrument. nevertheless, following the crisis of 2007/2008, debt instruments were deemed to become the root cause of the global economic collapse. since then, policymakers and economists struggle to find ways to escape from interest-based financing to achieve better overall stability. one of the suggestions is through equity-based financing. many efforts have been made to carry out the agenda, yet, the global debt to gdp is still at the enduring level. this research argues that the imitation issue and lack of understanding of equity-based financing are the reasons why debt instrument is still at the peak. this research also argues that most of the previous researchers did a good attempt to come out with a model of equity-based financing but without better illustrations on the benefits of equity-based financing in the long run. to tackle this issue, this research will follow few steps on embedding equity-based financing into the financial system. firstly, this research attempt to develop conceptual equity-based financing framework based on the real return and contingency claim; secondly, this research will compare and simulate the structure of the equity financing model with the debt financing model to illustrate social impact to the society, economy and environment; thirdly, this research will compare the ability of equity financing and debt financing to reach financial sustainability. this research is expected to induce society to educate themselves in choosing the best financing that will benefit them in the long-term. through the comprehensive theoretical model formulation, this research expects the issue of islamic financing that imitates conventional financing can be resolved. as to cater the campaign on social responsible finance, the findings from this research able to help the policymakers and the economist to gain confidence from the society on the social impact concept. this concept is vital in stimulating economic growth and stability in the long-run.
