This paper includes an evaluation of the heating sector starting from 2002 until 2005. The analysis was carried out on the basis of the data and information obtained from the heating companies, which submitted annually the performance reports. ( Report on the activity of producers, distributors and heat traders, Report on the activities of manufacturers, distributors and marketing heat (URE-C1)). The paper presents aggregated set of different heating plant enterprises classified according to such measures as the amount of heat the classrooms scope of licensed activity, type of fuel used, etc.. Two indicators such as a profit margin and cost of heat are presented in the form of charts. The last part of the paper includes an attempt to find out a regularity among the companies in each group according to their profitability and heat price. The study poses only the analysis of Polish heating sector. It does not include any judgments or opinions.

Niniejszy artykuł stanowi analizę sektora ciepłowniczego na przestrzeni lat 2002 - 2005. Analiza ta została przeprowadzona na podstawie danych i informacji uzyskanych od przedsiębiorstw ciepłowniczych, które w omawianym okresie corocznie składały do URE Sprawozdanie z działalności wytwórców, dystrybutorów i przedsiębiorstw obrotu ciepłem (URE-C1). W artykule przedstawiono podział zagregowanego i jednocześnie bardzo zróżnicowanego zbioru przedsiębiorstw według różnych klasyfikacji np. wielkości sprzedaży ciepła, zakresu działalności koncesjonowanej, rodzaju stosowanego paliwa itp. Wybrane wskaźniki charakteryzujące poszczególne grupy tj. rentowność i średnia jednoskładnikowa cena ciepła zostały przedstawione w formie tabelarycznej. Ostatnia część artykułu to próba odnalezienia prawidłowości w poszczególnych grupach przedsiębiorstw na podstawie ich cen i rentowności. Należy podkreślić, że opracowanie to stanowi analizę sektora ciepłowniczego i nie zawiera jego oceny.
