(அவ்வாறே) நிழலும் வெயிலும் (சமமாகா).

nor the darkness and the light,
(அவ்வாறே) இருளம் ஒளியும் (சமமாகா).

- nor the shade and the sun's heat.
(அவ்வாறே) நிழலும் வெயிலும் (சமமாகா).

nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember.
(இது) ஒரு குறிகாரனின் சொல்லுமன்று (எனினும்) நீங்கள் சொற்பமாகவே (இதை நினைந்து) நல்லறிவு பெறுகிறீர்கள்.

neither did the heavens weep for them, nor the earth, nor were they granted respite.
ஆகவே, அவர்களுக்காக வானமும் பூமியும் அழவுமில்லை (தப்பித்துக் கொள்ள) அவகாசமும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களாகவும் அவர்களில்லை.

you cannot make the dead to listen nor the deaf hear the call when they have turned back and retreated,
ஆகவே, (நபியே!) மரித்தவர்களையும் நிச்சயமாக நீர் கேட்கச் செய்ய முடியாது (உம்முடைய அழைப்பைப்) புறக்கணித்துத் திரும்பி விடும் செவிடர்களையும் (உம்முடைய) அழைப்பை நிச்சயமாக நீர் கேட்கச் செய்ய முடியாது.

nor the speech of a soothsayer (little do you remember).
(இது) ஒரு குறிகாரனின் சொல்லுமன்று (எனினும்) நீங்கள் சொற்பமாகவே (இதை நினைந்து) நல்லறிவு பெறுகிறீர்கள்.

then neither the sky shed tears over them nor the earth. they were granted no respite.
ஆகவே, அவர்களுக்காக வானமும் பூமியும் அழவுமில்லை (தப்பித்துக் கொள்ள) அவகாசமும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களாகவும் அவர்களில்லை.

believers, do not take as guides those who were given the book before you who have made of your religion a jest and a pastime, nor the unbelievers. have fear of allah, if you are believers.
முஃமின்களே! உங்களுக்குமுன் வேதம் வழங்கப்பட்டவர்களிலிருந்தும், காஃபிர்களிலிருந்தும், யார் உங்கள் மார்க்கத்தைப் பரிகாசமாகவும், விளையாட்டாகவும் எடுத்துக் கொள்கிறார்களோ அவர்களை நீங்கள் பாதுபாவலர்களாக ஆக்கிக் கொள்ளாதீர்கள்;. நீங்கள் முஃமின்களாக இருந்தால் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே அஞ்சி நடந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.

it will not be in accordance with your desires, nor the desires of the people of the scripture. he who doeth wrong will have the recompense thereof, and will not find against allah any protecting friend or helper.
(முஃமின்களே!) மறுமையில் நீங்கள் விரும்பிய படியோ, அல்லது வேதத்தையுடையவர்கள் விரும்பிய படியோ நடந்து விடுவதில்லை - எவன் தீமை செய்கிறானோ, அவன் அதற்குரிய தண்டனை வழங்கப்படுவான்;. இன்னும் அவன் (அங்கு) அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர வேறு யாரையும் (தனக்குப்) பாதுகாவலனாகவோ, துணை செய்பவனாகவோ காண மாட்டான்.

and of his signs are the night and the day and the sun and the moon. so prostrate not yourselves unto the sun nor the moon. but prostrate yourselves unto allah who hath created them, if it is he alone whom ye are worshipping.
இரவும், பகலும் சூரியனும், சந்திரனும் அவனுடைய அத்தாட்சிகளில் உள்ளவைதாம். ஆகவே, நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையே வணங்குகிறவர்களாக இருந்தால் சூரியனுக்கும், சந்திரனுக்கும் ஸுஜூது செய்யாதீர்கள் - இவற்றைப் படைத்தவனாகிய அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே ஸுஜூது செய்யுங்கள்.

tell my worshippers, those who believe, who establish the prayer, and spend of what we have given them in private and in public, before the coming of that day in which there is neither bargaining, nor the taking of friends,
ஈமான் கொண்ட என் அடியார்களிடம் (நபியே!) "கொடுக்கல் வாங்கலும், நட்பும் இல்லாத (இறுதி) நாள் வருவதற்கு முன்னதாகவே, அவர்கள் தொழுகையை முறையாகக் கடைப்பிடித்து ஒழுகட்டும், நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அளித்தவற்றிலிருந்து, இரகசியமாகவும் பகிரங்கமாகவும் (தான தருமங்களில்) செலவு செய்யட்டும்" என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக.

and (also) those who spend their wealth in order to be seen of men, and believe not in allah nor the last day. whoso taketh satan for a comrade, a bad comrade hath he.
இன்னும், எவர்கள் மற்ற மனிதர்களுக்குக் காட்டுவதற்காகத் தங்கள் பொருட்களைச் செலவு செய்வதுடன், அல்லாஹ்வையும் இறுதி நாளையும் நம்பாதிருக்கின்றனரோ (அவர்களுக்கு ஷைத்தான் கூட்டாளியாவான்). எவனுக்கு ஷைத்தான் கூட்டாளியாக இருக்கின்றானோ, அவன் கூட்டாளிகளிலெல்லாம் மிகத் தீயவன் (என்பதை அறியவேண்டாமா?)

it is neither your fancies nor the fancies of the people of the book which matter. whoever does evil shall reap its consequence and will find none to be his protector and helper against allah.
(முஃமின்களே!) மறுமையில் நீங்கள் விரும்பிய படியோ, அல்லது வேதத்தையுடையவர்கள் விரும்பிய படியோ நடந்து விடுவதில்லை - எவன் தீமை செய்கிறானோ, அவன் அதற்குரிய தண்டனை வழங்கப்படுவான்;. இன்னும் அவன் (அங்கு) அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர வேறு யாரையும் (தனக்குப்) பாதுகாவலனாகவோ, துணை செய்பவனாகவோ காண மாட்டான்.

(on that day) neither the riches nor the progeny of those who disbelieve will aught avail them with allah. they will be fuel for fire.
நிராகரிப்போர்களுக்கு அவர்களுடைய செல்வங்களும், குழந்தைகளும் அல்லாஹ்வி(ன் தண்டனையி)லிருந்து எதையும் நிச்சயமாக தடுக்கமாட்டாது. இன்னும் அவர்கள்தாம் (நரக) நெருப்பின் எரிபொருள்களாக இருக்கின்றனர்.

he said, “o son of my mother, do not clutch my beard nor the hair on my head; i feared that you may say, ‘you have caused a division among the descendants of israel and did not wait for my advice.’”
(இதற்கு ஹாரூன்;) "என் தாயின் மகனே! என் தாடியையோ என் தலை (முடி)யையோ பிடி(த்திழு)க்காதீர்கள்; 'பனீ இஸ்ராயீலிடையே நீங்கள் பிரிவினையை உண்டாக்கி விட்டீர்கள்; என் வார்த்தைக்காக நீங்கள் காத்திருக்கவில்லை!' என்று நீர் கூறுவீரோ என நிச்சயமாக நான் அஞ்சினேன்" என்று கூறினார்.

and the jews will never be pleased with thee, nor the nazarenes, except thou follow their faith. say thou: verily the guidance of allah, --that is the guidance. and of a surety wert thou to follow their desires after that which hath come unto thee of the knowledge, there will be for thee against allah neither protector nor helper.
(நபியே!) யூதர்களும், கிறிஸ்தவர்களும் அவர்கள் வழியை நீர் பின்பற்றாதவரையில் உம்மைப்பற்றி திருப்தியடைய மாட்டார்கள். (ஆகவே, அவர்களை நோக்கி;) "நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வின் வழி-(இஸ்லாம்) அதுவே நேர்வழி" என்று சொல்லும்;. அன்றி ஞானம் உம்மை வந்தடைந்த பின்னரும் அவர்களுடைய இச்சைகளைப் பின்பற்றுவீரேயானால், அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து உம்மைக் காப்பாற்றுபவனும், உமக்கு உதவி செய்பவனும் இல்லை.
