ข้าพเจ้าจึงว่า "สิ่งที่ท่านทั้งหลายทำอยู่นั้นไม่ดี ไม่ควรที่ท่านจะดำเนินในความยำเกรงพระเจ้าของเราทั้งหลาย เพื่อป้องกันการเยาะเย้ยของประชาชาติเหล่านั้น ซึ่งเป็นศัตรูของเราดอกหรื

that day they shall follow the caller for whom there shall be no crookedness; and voices shall be humbled for the compassionate; so that thou shalt not hear ought except pattering
วันนั้นพวกเขาจะติดตามผู้ร้องเรียกไปโดยไม่มีการอิดเอื้อนแต่ประการใด เสียงทั้งหลายก็จะลดค่อยลงต่อพระผู้ทรงกรุณาปรานี เจ้าจะไม่ได้ยินเสียงใด นอกจากเสียแผ่วเบา

those to whom we have given the book follow it as it ought to be followed: they have faith in it. as for those who deny it—it is they who are the losers.
บรรดาผุ้ที่เราได้ให้คัมภีร์แก่พวกเขาโดยที่พวกเขาอ่านคัมภีร์นั้นอย่างจริง ๆ ชนเหล่านี้แหหละคือ ผู้ที่ศรัทธาต่อคัมภีร์นั้นและผู้ใดปฏิเสธศรัทธาต่อคัมภีร์นั้นไซร้ แน่นอนชนเหล่านี้คือผู้ที่ขาดทุน

say thou await ye for us ought save one of the two excellences; while for you we wait that allah shall afflict you with a torment from himself or at our hands. await then, we also are with you awaiting.
“จงกล่าวเถิด (มุฮัมมัด) ว่าพวกท่านจะไม่คอยดูพวกเรา นอกจากหนึ่งในสองสิ่ง ทีดีเยี่ยมเท่านั้น และเราก็จะคอยดูพวกท่านในการที่อัลลอฮ์จะทรงให้ประสบแก่พวกท่านด้วยการลงโทษที่มาจากที่พระองค์ หรือด้วยมือของพวกเรา ดังนั้นพวกเจ้าจงคอยดูไปเถิด แท้จริงพวกเราก็จะเป็นผู้คอยดูพร้อมกับพวกท่านด้วย”

and whoever desires the hereafter and strives for it as he ought to strive and he is a believer; (as for) these, their striving shall surely be accepted.
และผู้ใดปรารถนาปรโลกและขวนขวายเพื่อมันอย่างจริงจัง โดยที่เขาเป็นผู้ศรัทธาชนเหล่านั้นการขวนขวายของพวกเขาจะได้รับการชมเชย

and the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, let us go and sacrifice to our god.
