per esempio jack prende in giro gli ufficiali della marina dicendo loro che se vedrà un civile sul molo li informerà immantinente , traduzione di i ll inform you immediately . immantinente è una scelta linguistica troppo aulica per un pirata che, certamente ha girato il mondo, ma la cui educazione si presume lasci a desiderare.

alcune scelte traduttive sono a mio avviso infelici: la frase di stephano i ll take a gander è tradotta con vado a dare una scòrsa . quest ultimo termine risulta stonato rispetto al resto del dialogo, e non aggiunge comicità al personaggio.
certain translation choices aren’t as successful: stephano’s line “i’ll take a gander” is translated with “vado a dare una scòrsa” (i’ll go and have a peep). this last term is out of line with respect to the rest of the dialogue and doesn’t add comicality to the character.

sarebbe bastato lasciare l originale immediatamente , oppure per evitare la chiusura della bocca in coda per la m di mente , si poteva optare per all istante . oppure quando elizabeth negozia l abbandono di port royal da parte della perla nera, minaccia barbossa con un i ll drop it , riguardo al medaglione.
it would have been enough to leave the original “immediatamente”, or to avoid the closure of the mouth at the end for the ‘m’ of “mente”, perhaps “all’istante” would have been better. or when elizabeth negotiates the sailing of the black pearl from port royal and threatens barbossa with a “i’ll drop it”, referring to the medallion.
