129. Welcomes with appreciation the support of the United Nations Environment Programme and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission for the "assessment of assessments" in providing secretariat services to the Ad Hoc Steering Group and the Group of Experts;

Recognizes the significant progress made by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission and Member States towards the establishment of regional tsunami warning and mitigation systems and the new effort to identify common requirements for regional centres, welcomes the continued collaboration of the World Meteorological Organization and other United Nations and intergovernmental organizations in this effort, and encourages Member States to establish and sustain their national warning and mitigation systems, within a global, ocean-related multi-hazard approach, as necessary, to reduce loss of life and damage to national economies and strengthen the resilience of coastal communities to natural disasters;

INDIAN OCEAN EXPLORER: Seized March 2009. The 35-metre boat was built in Hamburg as an oceanographic research vessel. It accommodates about 12 passengers. Pirates have freed the seven crew.

انديان اوشن اكسبلورر: خطفت في آذار 2009. السفينة التي يبلغ طولها خمسة و ثلاثين مترا, كانت قد بنيت في هامبورغ لتكون سفينة بحث أوقيانوغرافية. تستوعب حوالي 12 راكبا. و قد أطلق القراصنة سراح سبعة من أفراد طاقمها.

Encourages the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to continue to disseminate and implement the Criteria and Guidelines on the Transfer of Marine Technology, approved by the Assembly of the Oceanographic Commission at its twenty-second session, in 2003;

11 - تشجع اللجنة الأوقيانوغرافية الحكومية الدولية التابعة لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والعلم والثقافة على مواصلة نشر وتنفيذ المعايير والمبادئ التوجيهية المتعلقة بنقل التكنولوجيا البحرية، التي أقرتها جمعية اللجنة الأوقيانوغرافية في دورتها الثانية والعشرين في عام 2003()؛

14. Encourages States to use the Criteria and Guidelines on the Transfer of Marine Technology, adopted by the Assembly of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and recalls the important role of the secretariat of the International Oceanographic Commission in the implementation and promotion of those Criteria and Guidelines;

14 - تشجع الدول على استخدام المعايير والمبادئ التوجيهية المتعلقة بنقل التكنولوجيا البحرية، التي أقرتها جمعية اللجنة الأوقيانوغرافية الحكومية الدولية التابعة لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والعلم والثقافة()، وتذكر بأهمية دور أمانة اللجنة الأوقيانوغرافية الحكومية الدولية في تنفيذ تلك المعايير والمبادئ التوجيهية والتشجيع على الأخذ بها؛
