Le autorità competenti possono derogare a queste misure di divieto per gli ippodromi e i campi di corse ed esse informano la Commissione della natura delle deroghe accordate.

The competent authorities may derogate from these prohibition measures for hippodromes and racecourses, and shall notify the Commission of the nature of any derogations granted.

DECISIONE DELLA COMMISSIONE del 21 settembre 1993 che modifica la decisione 93/195/CEE per quanto riguarda la reintroduzione di cavalli registrati provenienti da taluni ippodromi degli Stati Uniti d'America

COMMISSION DECISION of 21 September 1993 amending Decision 93/195/EEC as regards the re-entry of registered horses from certain racetrack complexes in the United States of America

considerando che la comparsa dell'arterite virale equina può rappresentare un pericolo al momento della reintroduzione, dopo l'esportazione temporanea, di cavalli comunitari registrati che hanno partecipato a competizioni negli ippodromi in parola;

Whereas the apperance of equine viral arteritis is likely to constitute a danger on the re-entry, after temporary export, of Community registered horses which have participated in competitions at the racetrack complexes concerned;

considerando che è pertanto opportuno vietare la reintroduzione, dopo un'esportazione temporanea conforme alla decisione precitata, di cavalli registrati per corse, competizioni e manifestazioni culturali che provengano dagli ippodromi suddetti; che, alla luce delle conoscenze epizootiologiche relative a tale malattia, è opportuno limitare il divieto a un periodo di sei mesi;

Whereas, consequently, steps should be taken to prohibit, in accordance with the abovementioned Decision, the re-entry, after temporary export, of registered horses for racing, competition and cultural events from the racetrack complexes concerned; whereas, in the light of the epizootiological knowledge of this disease, the prohibition should be limited to a period of six months;

1) Nell'allegato I, gruppo C, i termini « Stati Uniti d'America » sono sostituiti dai seguenti: « Stati Uniti d'America [eccettuati, fino al 28 febbraio 1994, gli ippodromi dell'Arlington International Racetrack (Illinois), del Churchill Downs (Kentucky), dell'Ak-sar-ben (Nebraska) e del Prairie Meadows (Iowa)] ».

1. in Annex I, Group C, 'United States of America'is replaced by 'United States of America (with the exception, until 28 February 1994, of the following racetrack complexes: Arlington International Racetrack, Illinois, Churchill Downs, Kentucky, Ak-sar-ben, Nebraska, and Prairie Meadows, Iowa)';

2) Nell'allegato II, gruppo C, i termini « Stati Uniti d'America » sono sostituiti dai seguenti: « Stati Uniti d'America [eccettuati, fino al 28 febbraio 1994, gli ippodromi dell'Arlington International Racetrack (Illinois), del Churchill Downs (Kentucky), dell'Ak-sar-ben (Nebraska) e del Prarie Meadows (Iowa)] ».

considerando che, tenuto conto dell'esistenza di situazioni sanitarie equivalenti negli ippodromi e nei luoghi adibiti a competizioni ed a manifestazioni culturali nonché dell'isolamento da equidi di stato sanitario inferiore, è opportuno definire un unico certificato sanitario per la reintroduzione di cavalli registrati per corse, competizioni e manifestazioni culturali dopo un'esportazione temporanea in paesi terzi;

Whereas, given the existence of equivalent health situations at racecourses and on premises where competitions or cultural events are held, and given the isolation from equidae of lower health status, it seems advisable to establish a single health certificate for re-entry of registered horses for racing, competition and cultural events after temporary export to third countries;

considerando che, tenuto conto dell'esistenza di situazioni sanitarie equivalenti negli ippodromi e nei luoghi adibiti a competizioni ed a manifestazioni culturali nonché dell'isolamento da equidi di stato sanitario inferiore, è opportuno definire un unico certificato sanitario per la reintroduzione di cavalli registrati per corse, competizioni e manifestazioni culturali dopo un'esportazione temporanea in paesi terzi;

Ippodromo e Trottatoio sono stati costruiti entrambi agli inizi degli anni '20 su progetto di Paolo Vietti-Violi su un'area che già dall'800 era sede di attività ippiche.

The racecourse and track were both built at the beginning of the 20's, having been designed by Paolo Vietti-Violi, on an area that already played host to horse activities in the 1800's.

Non so dove egli sia ora: forse è tornato all'ippodromo, dove gli sportelli per le scommesse probabilmente sono regolati da norme più serie di quelle dei mercati finanziari internazionali.
