A representative JICS is based at the EMEA as part of the cooperation between EU institutions and agencies.During 2000, the representative has had the task of coordinating conference and interpreting needs at multilingual meetings, organising briefings for interpreters at EMEA meetings.

This appropriation is to be used only when the Joint Interpreting and Conference Service (SCIC) is unable to provide the resources requested by the Translation Centre, in particular for meetings of its Management Board.

6. Os custos directos e indirectos da interpretação passiva, incluindo em caso de anulação, facturados ao Conselho pela DG SCIC, serão pagos pela Representação Permanente de Espanha em conformidade com os pontos 11 e 12 infra.

6. The direct and indirect costs of passive interpretation, including in the case of cancellation, as invoiced to the Council by DG SCIC, will be paid by the Permanent Representation of Spain in accordance with paragraphs 11 and 12 below.

c) Em princípio, o pedido será deferido, excepto se o Secretariado-Geral do Conselho, depois de consultada a DG SCIC, informar a Representação Permanente de Espanha de que não se encontram disponíveis os meios necessários em termos de pessoal e de material.

(c) In principle the request will be acceded to, unless the General Secretariat of the Council, having consulted DG SCIC, informs the Permanent Representation of Spain that the necessary staff and equipment are not available.

[19] O regime de disponibilidade "implícita" difere do de disponibilidade "explícita" na medida em que esta última corresponde a equipas de reserva incluídas no planeamento para substituir intérpretes ausentes. De acordo com as condições de trabalho estipuladas ["Provisions applicable to staff interpreters", SCIC (87)25], os intérpretes designados para reuniões assegurarão no máximo 18 sessões (meios dias de 3,5 horas) por período de duas semanas.

[19] "Implicit" stand-by duty differs from "explicit" stand-by duty in that the latter corresponds to reserve teams included in the planning to replace absent interpreters. According to the established working conditions ("Provisions applicable to staff interpreters", SCIC (87)25), interpreters can be assigned to meetings for a maximum of 18 sessions (half-days of 3,5 hours) per period of two weeks.
