SOUTHERN LEYTE marks Gold The Province of Southern Leyte marked its Golden Founding Anniversary on July 1, 2010. The festive air kicked off with series of activities including an agri-fish fair and garden show, street dancing, cook fest, live band contest with local talents, motor cross exhibition and cycling competition, inter-town boxing, and inter-agency sports competition. These activities aimed to showcase the talents of Southern Leytenos that have been in its best in 50 years. Another activities were quiz bee and painting contest participated in by the different schools around the province. The highlights of the celebration were the selection of Miss Southern Leyte 2010 and the Sinugdan Festival with its theme: “One Beat, One Faith, One Southern Leyte.” The Sinugdan featured the different festivals of Maasin City and the 18 municipalities of the province.
