Vorrei sottolineare, in particolare, la registrazione del movimento For Freedom ("per la libertà”) e del Centro delle iniziative per Chernobyl, la stampa e la distribuzione di giornali indipendenti come Narodnaya Volya e Nasha Niva, la tavola rotonda sulla regolamentazione di Internet con il rappresentante OSCE per la libertà dei media, le consultazioni con l'OSCE/ODIHR per il miglioramento del sistema elettorale e la creazione dei consigli consultivi, incluso uno sul tema dei diritti umani, che riuniscono rappresentanti della società civile e perfino l'opposizione.

I would point in particular to the registration of the 'For Freedom' movement and of the Centre for Chernobyl Initiatives, the printing and distribution of independent newspapers such as Narodnaya Volya and Nasha Niva, the round table on regulation of the Internet with the OSCE Representative on the Freedom of the Media, the ongoing expert consultations with OSCE/ODIHR on improving electoral legislation, and the establishment of Consultative Councils, including one on human rights issues, which brings together representatives of civil society and even the opposition.

Abbiamo rilevato con soddisfazione i passi compiuti dalla Bielorussia nelle ultime settimane. E' stato infatti registrato il movimento "Per la libertà”, sono nuovamente in stampa e in distribuzione alcuni giornali indipendenti come Narodnaya Volya e Nasha Niva, è stata indetta una tavola rotonda sulla disciplina per Internet con il rappresentate OSCE per la libertà dei media ed è stato annunciato l'avvio delle consultazioni con gli esperti dell'OSCE/ODIHR in tema di riforma elettorale.
