2. De raad van bestuur stelt per lidstaat één lid aan in het wetenschappelijk comité op basis van door de lidstaten voorgestelde personen die werden geselecteerd op grond van hun ervaring en hun wetenschappelijke deskundigheid van hoog niveau op het gebied van drugs en drugsverslaving en rekening houdend met het gegeven dat het comité multidisciplinair van aard moet zijn en alle wetenschappelijke terreinen moet bestrijken die verband houden met de drugs-en drugsverslavingsproblematiek. Het kan daarbij om de volgende, doch ook om andere terreinen gaan: biomedisch onderzoek, neurowetenschappen, criminologie, onderwijswetenschappen, epidemiologie, economie, forensische wetenschappen, recht, beleidsevaluatie en –analyse, politicologie, preventie-evaluatie/-onderzoek, verslavingspsychiatrie, psychologie, psychofarmacologie, volksgezondheid, kwalitatief onderzoek, maatschappelijk werk, statistiek, sociologie, opinieonderzoek, toxicologie en behandelingsevaluatie/-onderzoek.

2. The Management Board shall appoint one member per Member State to the Scientific Committee based on proposals by Member States of individuals selected on the basis of their experience and scientific excellence in the area of drugs and drug addiction, and taking into account the need for the Committee to be multidisciplinary in nature and to cover all scientific fields linked to the problems of drugs and drug addiction. Such fields include, but are not restricted to: Biomedical Research, Neuroscience, Criminology, Educational Science, Epidemiology, Economics, Forensic Science, Law, Policy Evaluation and Analysis, Political Science, Prevention Evaluation/Research, Psychiatry of Addiction, Psychology, Psychopharmacology, Public Health, Qualitative Research, Social work, Statistics, Sociology, Survey Research, Toxicology, and Treatment Evaluation/Research.
