In the last few hours news has come through of the abduction of the Archbishop of Freetown, Joseph Hendri Ganda, after Italian missionaries had been taken hostage, one of whom, the Jesuit Father Mario Guerra, is still in the hands of the rebels.

On the basis of information collected in the United States of America during a mission carried out by the Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) in March 2000, and supplied by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture, it appears that new infestations of Xanthomonas campestris, strains pathogenic to Citrus were detected in Broward, Hendry and Hillsborough Counties in Florida;

Aus den Informationen, die in den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika bei einem Kontrollbesuch des Lebensmittel- und Veterinäramtes im März 2000 gesammelt und von der Abteilung Tier- und Pflanzenschutzkontrolle (Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service) des Landwirtschaftsministeriums der Vereinigten Staaten mitgeteilt wurden, geht hervor, dass ein neuer Befall mit für Citrus pathogenen Stämmen von Xanthomonas campestris in den Counties Broward, Hendry und Hillsborough in Florida festgestellt wurde.

In Article 2, fourth indent, the text "Florida (with the exception of Collier County, Dade County and Manatee County)", is replaced by "Florida (with the exception of Broward County, Collier County, Miami - Dade County, Hendry County, Hillsborough County and Manatee County)".

In Artikel 2 vierter Gedankenstrich werden die Worte "Florida (mit Ausnahme von Collier County, Dade County und Manatee County)" durch die Worte "Florida (mit Ausnahme von Broward County, Collier County, Miami-Dade County, Hendry County, Hillsborough County und Manatee County)" ersetzt.

Daher sollten diese Counties aus der Liste der Gebiete gestrichen werden, die in Florida als frei von für Citrus pathogenen Stämmen von Xanthomonas campestris anerkannt werden.
