Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again proved that he writes his own rule book and has unique style of connecting with people, whether from a regular podium or ramparts of Red Fort. It was during his maiden Independence Day speech that he gave his fellow citizens a road map to transform India. And today, is one such day, when he will once again connect with fellow citizens through All India Radio. In fact, he will become one of the first Prime Ministers of India to engage with the people on a regular basis through one of the most loved and reliable medium – Radio today. All India Radio has been India’s mass communications lifeline for decades and still enjoys to be the one because millions of rural population has access to it. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had invited people from all walks of life asking for suggestions on numerous issues, which will further help the Government to deliver ‘Good Governance’ through the MyGov Platform. . Inputs to the Prime Minister on MyGov ranged from issues pertaining to education, Clean India, employment and skill development, poverty alleviation and rural development. Also issues like environmental hazards, Make in India, SAARC, corruption and Black Money were raised by participants on MyGov. Applauding Prime Minister’s initiative to share his ideas on Radio, Revathi Sampath Kumaran on MyGov said, ” Like millions of Indians, I am inspired by your leadership and your ideas. I hope you will let us know about the progress of your ideas that you have been sharing with us from time to time. I would like you to talk about the replacement of Planning Commission, SAARC satellite proposal and adoption of a village by every Member of Parliament under your leadership.” Likewise, Achintya Kansal on MyGov wants to know Prime Minister’s views and steps taken by his Government to eradicate corruption, education policy, BPL, reservation in IITs and AIIMS. Another young man Nikhil Mulik, who too agrees with PM’s style of governance requested him to take up topics like Black Money, strong infrastructure and security for all in his radio address. In his message to the Prime Minister Modi, Gautam Pal on MyGov requested him to speak to architects, developers, mayors, municipal-chairpersons and Panchayats to develop buildings for specially-abled people so that they can also help in making India a developed country, through their contributions and can lead life of dignity without being made realised that they are incapable or are behind anyone. Ravi Rao on MyGov said that it is a timely effort by the Prime Minister of India to address people via radio. He urged Modi to focus upon agriculture as majority of the population practices it. He also suggests to outline programmes that will help farmers in improving their plight and how they can improve their crops. Ravi also asked Prime Minister to hold such conversation twice a year on the radio.
