Naviac, poznatky zo zloženia a fyzikálno-chemických a biologických vlastností vylúčených rezíduí odvodených z doplnkovej látky sú neodmysliteľné pri určení rozsahu výskumov potrebných na vyhodnotenie rizík zo znečistenia alebo pretrvávania v životnom prostredí.
