Le tonnage brut des navires dont la forme ou les principes de construction sont tels que l'application des formules ci-dessus serait déraisonnable ou impraticable (catamarans, trimarans ou autres navires d'une conception singulière) sera déterminé par l'administration de l'État membre concerné.

The gross tonnage of vessels whose form or constructional features are such as to render the application of these formulae unreasonable or impracticable (catamarans, trimarans and other vessels of novel design) shall be determined by the administration of the Member State concerned.

(155) Par la même note, les autorités italiennes se sont engagées, pour ladite période 2005-2008, à réduire l’offre globale de services rapides de transport (aliscafi et catamarani) de passagers sur la ligne "Napoli-Procida-Ischia". La réduction de capacité à laquelle les autorités italiennes se sont engagées consistera à diminuer l’offre de sièges offerts à la vente sur les différentes unités de Caremar affectées au service de cette ligne de 1142260 à 633200 pendant la période hivernale et de 683200 à 520400 pendant la période estivale, tout en gardant le niveau actuel de voyages afin de permettre la mobilité des résidents des îles. Les autorités italiennes évaluent cette réduction globale de capacité à près de 45% dans la période hivernale et à environ 24% dans la période estivale. Par courrier du 17 février 2004 (enregistré sous la référence A/13405/04), les autorités nationales ont encore spécifié que ladite réduction concernerait l’offre à caractère touristique pour laquelle les opérateurs privés sont en mesure d’offrir des services comparables. Par la même note, elles se sont également engagées à tenir une comptabilité séparée pour les liaisons ayant caractère de service public.

(155) In the same letter the Italian authorities also undertook, again for the period 2005-2008, to reduce the overall supply of passenger transport services provided by means of high-speed craft (hydrofoils and catamarans) on the Naples/Procida/Ischia route. Pursuant to the Italian authorities'undertakings, the reduction in capacity will consist in reducing the number of places provided on the various ships Caremar uses on this route, from 1142260 to 633200 during the winter season and from 683200 to 520400 during the summer season, while maintaining the current number of journeys so as to ensure the mobility of the islands'residents. The Italian authorities estimate the overall reduction in capacity at around 45% in the winter period and around 24% in the summer period. By letter dated 17 February 2004 (registered under the number A/13405/04), the Italian authorities also indicated that the reduction concerned the supply of tourist services in respect of which private operators were able to offer comparable services. In the same letter, the Italian authorities further undertook to keep separate accounts for connections involving a public service.
