La beneficiaria de la ayuda sería Chupa Chups S.A., sociedad holding de un grupo industrial familiar establecido en España en 1940. Su principal actividad consiste en la fabricación y comercialización de golosinas, especialmente de chupa-chups (70% de las ventas), de los que Chupa Chups es el mayor proveedor mundial (producción anual de 17000 toneladas, o 12 millones de unidades/día, comercializadas en 150 países). Actualmente, el grupo cuenta con cuatro centros de producción situados en Rusia, México, Sant Esteve de Sesrovires (Barcelona) y Villamayor (Asturias).
