Il termine "<PROTECTED>" che in origine si riferiva all'area interessata dalla primitiva divagazione del letto del fiume <PROTECTED>, è stato esteso a una zona umida molto più estesa che il Piano Territoriale del Parco Agricolo Sud Milano ha inserito in ambito di tutela ambientale e naturalistica con ipotesi di farla diventare un'area a Parco Naturale.
