O processo de revisão da Directiva 92/3/Euratom, de 3 de Fevereiro de 1992, relativa à fiscalização e ao controlo das transferências de resíduos radioactivos entre Estados-Membros e para dentro e fora da Comunidade, foi iniciado em 2001, no contexto da 5.ª fase da iniciativa SLIM (Simplificação da Legislação do Mercado Interno, SLIM V), com o objectivo de facilitar a utilização e de aumentar a transparência dessa directiva (ver relatório da Comissão sobre os resultados da 5.ª fase da iniciativa SLIM[1]).

The revision process of Directive 92/3/Euratom of 3 February 1992 on the supervision and control of shipments of radioactive waste between Member States and into and out of the Community was initiated in 2001 in the context of the fifth phase of the SLIM initiative (Simpler Legislation for Internal Market; SLIM V), with a view to making Directive 92/3 Euratom more user-friendly and transparent.
