Awaking

Awake, my soul! No longer droop in sin. Rejoice, O my heart, and give place no more for the enemy of my soul.

Воспрянь, душа моя! Не унывай больше в согрешениях. Радуйся, о сердце мое, и не отдавайся больше врагу души моей!

Awake, awake! Put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake as in the ancient days. Art thou not he that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?

Воспрянь, воспрянь! Облекись крепостию, о мышца Господня! Восстань, как в дни древние. Не ты ли сразила Раава и поразила дракона?

And he said unto me: Awake, and hear the words which I shall tell thee; for behold, I am come to declare unto you the glad tidings of great joy.

И он сказал мне: пробудись и внимай словам, которые я скажу тебе; ибо вот, я пришел возвестить тебе благовесть великой радости.

Awake, my sons; put on the armor of righteousness. Shake off the chains with which ye are bound, and come forth out of obscurity, and arise from the dust.

Проснитесь, сыны мои; вооружитесь оружием праведности! Стряхните цепи, которыми вы связаны, выходите из темноты и восстаньте из праха!

Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his fury-thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling wrung out-

Воспрянь, воспрянь, восстань, о Иерусалим, ты, который из руки Господа выпил чашу ярости Его, выпил до дна чашу трепета, осушил до последней капли.

And the things which I shall tell you are made known unto me by an angel from God. And he said unto me: Awake; and I awoke, and behold he stood before me.

И то, что я должен сказать вам, было открыто мне ангелом Божиим. И он сказал мне: пробудись; и я пробудился, и вот, он стоял предо мною.

Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

Воспрянь, воспрянь, облекись в силу твою, о Сион! Облекись в твои красивые одежды, о Иерусалим, город святой! Ибо не будет более входить в тебя необрезанный и нечистый.

And it came to pass that Teancum stole privily into the tent of the king, and put a javelin to his heart; and he did cause the death of the king immediately that he did not awake his servants.

И было, что Теанкум проник тайно в шатер царя и вонзил ему дротик в сердце, причинив мгновенную смерть, так что царь не разбудил своих слуг.

Awake! and arise from the dust, and hear the words of a trembling parent, whose limbs ye must soon lay down in the cold and silent grave, from whence no traveler can return; a few more days and I go the way of all the earth.

Проснитесь! Восстаньте из праха и слушайте слова немощного родителя, останки которого вы должны скоро положить в холодную и немую могилу, из которой ни один странник не возвращается; еще несколько дней, и я уйду путем всех смертных земных.

And then shall be brought to pass that which is written: Awake, awake again, and put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city, for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

И тогда исполнится то, что было написано: Проснись, проснись снова и облекись в силу твою, о Сион; облекись в твои красивые одежды, о Иерусалим, город святый, ибо с сего времени не будет более входить в тебя необрезанный и нечистый.

O, all ye old men, and also ye young men, and you little children who can understand my words, for I have spoken plainly unto you that ye might understand, I pray that ye should awake to a remembrance of the awful situation of those that have fallen into transgression.

О, все вы, старые мужи, а также вы, молодые люди и вы, малые дети, которые могут понимать слова мои, ибо я говорил вам ясно, дабы вы могли уразуметь, и я молю вас пробудиться и вспомнить ужасную участь тех, которые впали в согрешение.

But behold, my brethren, is it expedient that I should awake you to an awful reality of these things? Would I harrow up your souls if your minds were pure? Would I be plain unto you according to the plainness of the truth if ye were freed from sin?

Но вот, братья мои, неужели я должен пробуждать в вас ужасное сознание всего этого? Устрашал ли бы я ваши души, если бы вы были чисты умом? Говорил ли бы я вам ясно всю эту истину, если бы вы были очищены от греха?

O that ye would awake; awake from a deep sleep, yea, even from the sleep of hell, and shake off the awful chains by which ye are bound, which are the chains which bind the children of men, that they are carried away captive down to the eternal gulf of misery and woe.

О, проснитесь, проснитесь от глубокого сна, да, от сна адского, и стряхните с себя ужасные цепи, которыми вы связаны; цепи, которые связывают детей человеческих и ведут их пленными в вечную пропасть горя и несчастья.

O my brethren, hearken unto my words; arouse the faculties of your souls; shake yourselves that ye may awake from the slumber of death; and loose yourselves from the pains of hell that ye may not become angels to the devil, to be cast into that lake of fire and brimstone which is the second death.

О, братья мои, внимайте славам моим; возбудите чувства вашей души; очнитесь, чтобы воспрянуть вам от сна смерти; освободите себя от мук ада, чтобы не стали вы ангелами дьявола и не были ввергнуты в озеро огня и серы, что есть вторая смерть.

But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.

Но вот, если вы очнетесь и возбудите ваши чувства, хотя бы только для испытания моих слов, употребляя лишь крупицу вашей веры, да, если вы только лишь имеете желание поверить, то дайте этому желанию воздействовать на вас, пока вы не уверуете настолько, что воспримете хотя бы часть моих слов.

And awake, and arise from the dust, O Jerusalem; yea, and put on thy beautiful garments, O daughter of Zion; and strengthen thy stakes and enlarge thy borders forever, that thou mayest no more be confounded, that the covenants of the Eternal Father which he hath made unto thee, O house of Israel, may be fulfilled.

Проснись и восстань из праха, о Иерусалим; да, облекись в красивые одежды, о дочь Сиона; утверди твои колья и расширь навеки пределы твои, чтобы больше не смущаться тебе, чтобы исполнились заветы Отца Вечного, которые Он дал тебе, о дом Израилев.

Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it, because of the blood of them who have been slain; for they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and also upon those who built it up.

А потому Господь велит вам: когда вы увидите все это среди вас, вы придете к сознанию вашего ужасного положения, так как среди вас будет эта тайная заговорная шайка; и горе да будет ей за кровь тех, которые были убиты, ибо они вопиют из праха о возмездии ей, а также и тем, которые создали ее.
