Students Bullying Teachers: Cyber Bullying and bullying teachers We hear about cyber-bullying often in the news. Students are getting online and bullying other students over the internet. They are using social networking sites, YouTube, instant messaging and texting to harass, embarrass and in general, bully other students. There have been instances that have been so hurtful that students have contemplated, and even committed suicide. Unfortunately, teachers are on the receiving end of cyber-bullying sometimes, especially when it comes to a disgruntled student. There are so many cases of high school students walking out of class, going to the school library, or home, and immediately creating fake accounts simply in order to humiliate the teacher. If this is not the case, they will write derogatory comments and insults on their own pages, and invite fellow students to chime in with their own negative comments and insults. Kids just want to fit in with their peers, and this is a reason why so many kids are feeding on the fury of cyber-bullying. In many cases, this all occurs because a student was not satisfied with what they deem to be an unfair grade on a test or assignment. The reason this is done via the internet is because this seems like a place where the student can say what they want to say about their teacher, and they won’t have to face the same consequences that they would if they had said it to the teacher in person. Sometimes the students just assume that it is anonymous, or that the teacher will not find out about it. Other times, the teacher is meant to see it and be intentionally hurt by it. In any event, teachers are encouraged to always print or keep evidence of online bullying. Children are impulsive and social networking sites are a perfect place to display this impulsiveness and say whatever comes to mind. They then claim to have “free speech” at the expense of someone’s life, in this case, the personal and professional life of their teacher. Sadly, sometimes parents are in on this cyber-bullying while this is quickly becoming an epidemic that is causing much of the decline in our schools across the nation.

When he was born his mother described him as an angel, because when he was born he had curly hair like the angels in paintings by Michealangelo. Even though he may have looked like an angel, he was very loud and very spoiled when he was younger. He cried, he screamed and always had a tantrum when he did not get what he wanted. But all of that changed when he got older and when his little brother was born. He started to behave, even though he still was spoiled at the time, he was starting to become more disciplined. He started to become more behaved once he started going to school when starting to study his kindergarten lessons going to elementary to highschool.

Ombudsman to inspect Purisima house By Cecille Suerte Felipe, The Philippine Star Posted at 10/08/2014 8:08 AM | Updated as of 10/08/2014 8:08 AM MANILA - Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Alan Purisima promised yesterday to abide by whatever is asked of him by the Office of the Ombudsman, including allowing its representatives to take another peek into his controversial rest house in Nueva Ecija. Last Monday, members of media and representatives of the anti-graft agency were given a tour of the property. “The PNP chief is presently being scrutinized and with investigation being conducted by the ombudsman... when the ombudsman says that there has to be an ocular inspection, I can say he can’t do away with that,” Senior Superintendent Robert Po, newly designated spokesman for the PNP chief, said. “And I think the chief PNP will welcome that just to make the point that what he is saying that it is not a mansion, will be proven,” he said. Purisima opened his Nueva Ecija house to reporters and TV crew last Monday, to make them see for themselves that the structure was no mansion but just an “ordinary house.” “As reporters could see, the property is no mansion by any standard. It is an ordinary house, as ordinary as the other concrete houses that you would see in the neighborhood,” said Purisima in a statement. “By inviting the media, it is my hope that some questions related to my property would be put to rest.” Senior Superintendent Wilben Mayor, PNP Public Information Office (PIO) chief, said he was not aware of the presence of representatives from the ombudsman among media members during last Monday’s visit. BIR joins probe The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), for its part, is joining a composite task force being organized to conduct lifestyle check on Purisima and other police officers. BIR Commissioner Kim Henares said a memorandum of agreement on the creation of the task force is now being finalized. She said the lifestyle check being readied for Purisima and other police officers is the idea of Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II. “In fact, he was volunteering that it starts with him,” she said. The PNP is under the DILG. Aside from the BIR, the task force would also include the DILG, the Office of the Ombudsman and the National Police Commission (Napolcom), Henares said. She said the BIR’s role would be limited to looking into the tax payments of the officers covered by the lifestyle check. “It is the ombudsman who has the authority to look into suspicious bank accounts, not the BIR,” she stressed. Responding to questions, Henares said Purisima would be the first officer to undergo lifestyle check, considering the unanswered questions about his wealth as well as the plunder charges filed against him with the ombudsman. “Is his house a mansion? A house is a mansion and a mansion is a house. That would be tackled in the lifestyle check,” she pointed out. “It’s not fair for me to make a conclusion because I will be part of the group that will investigate him.” She said she is confident there would be no whitewash even if the DILG and Napolcom would be part of the lifestyle check task force. “I don’t think Secretary Roxas would allow any whitewashing,” she said. As DILG secretary, Roxas chairs Napolcom, where Purisima sits as a member. Henares said if the police officers fail the lifestyle investigation, they would be charged with violating the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act. He said the law presumes that properties are illegally acquired if their owners are unable to prove they have enough legal sources of income to buy them. She said Roxas first thought of making police officers undergo lifestyle check after news of the Sept. 1 kidnap-robbery incident on Edsa in Mandaluyong City came out. The daring heist, caught on cellphone photo, would turn out to be perpetrated by several police officers assigned at the La Loma station in Quezon City. Asked whether the BIR is conducting a lifestyle probe on Vice President Jejomar Binay and his family, Henares said: “I am not saying there is or there is none. We do what we have to do, and if there is a result, we file the appropriate case.” Wife, kids included Deputy ombudsman for military and other law enforcement offices (MOLEO) Cyril Ramos said the sources of income of Purisima’s wife Ma. Ramona Lydia Purisima and their children would also be examined. “As part of the lifestyle check, we will make use of the SALN (statements of assets, liabilities and net worth) of General Purisima. We will look into the SALN to determine if there are properties or assets which have been acquired illegally or illegal wealth as the case may be,” Ramos said told reporters after the Senate hearing on the Ombudsman’s P543-million budget for 2015. Based on his 2013 SALN, Purisima’s total assets reached P17.264 million while his liabilities reached P10.7 million, placing his net worth at P 6.563 million. – With Aurea Calica, Jess Diaz, Christina Mendez
