To be honest, this is the first time I hear about Gilgamesh. Maybe it’s because of the difference of our cultures, but I did feel the magnificence of the western ancient world and also the epic of Gilgamesh. The story is simple, people can understand it’s telling us about how Gilgamesh raised and became a hero, or some people might read it as a symbol of friendship between Gilgamesh and Enkidu. Well, at least , I see it not only how Gilgamesh became an epic but how the great friendship between the two main characters in the story. Gilgamesh was the king of Uruk, and at the beginning he was a tyrant and created a lot of misery to his people. That’s why people were praying to the god to save them, and the God responded with creating a warrior Enkidu to fight Gilgamesh. But the fate didn’t only had a joke with them but also made them very closed friends. They run the city together, they killed the monsters together and they built an epic together. Isn’t this a joke of destiny? Or maybe all the stories was written by the god even before they were born. But anyway, the friendship they had is something so hard to get nowadays. Most of content of the epic happened in dreams, I was really curious about it not until after I understand the reason of it. After reading the epic deeply I realized how the myth stories could inspire people. In the story most of the dream came true, and this is why in the old days dreams were really important in life. There were dream readers and even now there are some people who can read dreams. Some people believe that we dream for a reason, some think that dreams are actually prophesy that it can tell us the unknown future. For some reason, I’m one of those who believe that we dream for a reason. And I also believe the epic of Gilgamesh happened for a reason. It’s just so far from us that we can’t tell the authenticity. But I never doubt it. Well, I’ve always believed that everything happened for a reason.

In an individual’s life, school covers most of the fun and misery. School is where a person learns what is right or wrong, what’s square root of 4 or what is the powerhouse of the cell.

Must we always build walls to break the chain of human solidarity, separate peoples and protect the happiness of some from the misery of others?

lagi bang gagawa ng mga pader tayo para sirain ang tanikala ng solidaridad ng tao, paghiwalayin ang mga tao at pangalagaan ang kaligayahan ng ilan habang ang iba'y naghihirap?

Lord of Peace, we come to You in our need Create in us an awareness of the massive forces of violence and terrorism that threaten our world today. Grant us a sense of urgency to activate the forces of goodness, of justice, of love and of peace in our communities. Where there is armed conflict, let us stretch out our arms to our brothers and sisters. Where there is abundance and luxury, let there be simple lifestyle and sharing. Where there is poverty and misery, let there be dignified living and constant striving for just structures. Where there is selfish ambition, let there be humble service. Where there is injustice, let there be humble atonement. Where there is despair, let there be hope in the Good News. Where there are wounds of division, let there be unity and wholeness. Where there are lies and deceit, let your Truth set us all of us free. Where there are thoughts of vengeance, let there be healing and forgiveness. Help us to be committed to the Gospel of peace. In spite of our differences in faith traditions and ethnic roots, Teach us Your spirit of mercy and compassion. For it is only in loving imitation of you, Lord of Peace, that we can discover the healing springs of life that will bring about new birth to our earth a new era of peace and a new harmony among all Forever and ever. Amen.

The point where the happiness arise from me while watching the movie is when the funny teacher who disguise as a clown at the very first meeting with the kid came. I salute the way he explained to Ishan’s family the reason why he doesn’t recognize letters and yet Ishan find it hard to read was really amazing. One of the things that made a big impact on me was when parents ignore what the teacher tell them and didn’t give any help for their son yet the teacher still holds on his faith that he can lend a hand to aid not only the disability of Ishan but also the misery in the eyes and heart of the little boy. What I learned: To give care and to believe in a child’s unique ability is the true meaning of love. To allot time for a child to teach and support them are the important lessons that I gained because for me that explains the best meaning of the movies’ title Every Child is Special.
