እኛ ለበዳዮች ፈተና አድርገናታል ፡ ፡

you are only a mortal like us . indeed we believe that you are an utter liar .
« አንተም ብጤያችን ሰው እንጅ ሌላ አይደለህም ፡ ፡ እነሆ ከውሸታሞች ነህ ብለን እንጠረጥርሃለን ፡ ፡

and unto each ! we propounded similitude thereunto ; and each we ruined an utter ruin .
ሁሉንም ( ገሠጽን ) ለእነሱ ምሳሌዎችን ገለጽን ፡ ፡ ሁሉንም ማጥፋትን አጠፋናቸውም ፡ ፡

and when they see a sign they make it an object of ridicule ,
ተዓምርን ባዩም ጊዜ ለመሳለቅ ይጠራራሉ ፡ ፡

surely we have made it an arabic quran that you may understand .
እኛ ታውቁ ዘንድ ዐረብኛ ቁርኣን አደረግነው ፡ ፡

we have made it an arabic quran so that you may exercise your reason ,
እኛ ታውቁ ዘንድ ዐረብኛ ቁርኣን አደረግነው ፡ ፡

abiding under it - an evil burden for them on the day of resurrection ,
በእርሱ ውስጥ ዘውታሪዎች ኾነው ( ይሸከማሉ ) ፡ ፡ በትንሣኤም ቀን ለእነሱ የኾነው ሸክም ከፋ !

the refuge of those will be hell , and they will not find from it an escape .
እነዚያ መኖሪያቸው ገሀነም ናት ፡ ፡ ከርስዋም መሸሻን አያገኙም ፡ ፡

behold , we have made it an arabic koran ; haply you will understand ;
እኛ ታውቁ ዘንድ ዐረብኛ ቁርኣን አደረግነው ፡ ፡

even so ( it was ) , and we made it an inheritance for other folk ;
( ነገሩ ) እንደዚሁ ኾነ ፡ ፡ ሌሎችንም ሕዝቦች አወረስናት ፡ ፡

so we made it an example to their own time and to their posterity , and a lesson to those who fear allah .
( ቅጣቲቱንም ) ለነዚያ በስተፊትዋ ለነበሩትና ለነዚያም ከበኋላዋ ላሉት ( ሕዝቦች ) መቀጣጫ ለፈራህያንም መገሰጫ አደረግናት ፡ ፡

and we made it an example to their own and to succeeding generations , and an admonition to the allah-fearing .
( ቅጣቲቱንም ) ለነዚያ በስተፊትዋ ለነበሩትና ለነዚያም ከበኋላዋ ላሉት ( ሕዝቦች ) መቀጣጫ ለፈራህያንም መገሰጫ አደረግናት ፡ ፡

they said : your evil augury be with you . call ye it an ill- luck because ye are admonished !
« ገደ ቢስነታችሁ ከእናንተው ጋር ነው ፡ ፡ ብትገሰጹ ( ትዝታላችሁን ? ) በእውነቱ እናንተ ወሰን አላፊዎች ሕዝቦች ናችሁ » አሏቸው ፡ ፡

and if we willed , we could surely do away with that which we revealed to you . then you would not find for yourself concerning it an advocate against us .
ብንሻም ያንን ወዳንተ ያወረድነውን በእርግጥ እናስወግዳለን ፡ ፡ ከዚያም ላንተ በእኛ ላይ በርሱ ( ለማስመለስ ) ተያዢን አታገኝም ፡ ፡

if we had made it an angel , we should have sent him as a man , and we should certainly have caused them confusion in a matter which they have already covered with confusion .
( መልክተኛውን ) መልአክም ባደረግነው ኖሮ ወንድ ( በሰው ምስል ) ባደረግነው ነበር ፡ ፡ በእነርሱም ላይ የሚያመሳስሉትን ነገር ባመሳሰልንባቸው ነበር ፡ ፡

thus we have revealed it an arabic quran , and we have diversified the warnings in it , that perhaps they would become righteous , or it may produce a lesson for them .
እንደዚሁም ዐረብኛ ቁርኣን ኾኖ አወረድነው ፡ ፡ አላህንም ይፈሩ ዘንድ ወይም ለእነሱ ግሣጼን ያድስላቸው ዘንድ ከዛቻ ደጋግመን በውስጡ ገለጽን ፡ ፡

( saying ) : if ye do good , ye do good for your own souls , and if ye do evil , it is for them ( in like manner ) . so , when the time for the second ( of the judgments ) came ( we roused against you others of our slaves ) to ravage you , and to enter the temple even as they entered it the first time , and to lay waste all that they conquered with an utter wasting .
መልካም ብትሠሩ ለነፍሶቻችሁ መልካምን ሠራችሁ ፡ ፡ መጥፎንም ብትሠሩ በነርሱ ( በነፍሶቻችሁ ) ላይ ነው ፤ ( አልን ) ፡ ፡ የኋለኛይቱም ( ጊዜ ) ቀጠሮ በመጣ ጊዜ ፊቶቻችሁን ሊያስከፉ ፣ መስጊዱንም በመጀመሪያ ጊዜ እንደገቡት ሊገቡ ፣ ያሸነፉትንም ሁሉ ( ፈጽመው ) ማጥፋትን እንዲያጠፉ ( እንልካቸዋልን ) ፡ ፡
