وبعد أن قام بزيارة ولايات دارفور الثلاث، وافتتح المنشآت العربية في قرى هبيلا كناري ومراية جانقي وبركة، ولمس الجهود الحثيثة التي قامت بها الآلية المشتركة المكونة من الأمانة العامة للجامعة العربية وحكومة السودان لإعادة تأهيل هذه القرى بالخدمات الأساسية لصالح أهل دارفور من تعليم ومحطات مياه ومراكز صحية وخدمات اجتماعية وأمنية، وإنشاء ثلاث مستشفيات متكاملة بكل من أبو عجورة ودار السلام ونيرتيتي، وتوفير منازل لسكن مقدمي هذه الخدمات، وذلك من خلال مساهمات مقدرة من الدول العربية الأعضاء.
