the development agency for the southern provinces has recently prepared a number of programmes and initiatives announced by his majesty the king during his visit to the southern region from 20 to 25 march 2006. in particular, the measures include building a port at a cost of 250 million dirhams in boujdour; implementing a liquid purification programme at a cost of 56 million dirhams in the same city; constructing a 57 million dirham groundwater channel in laayoune; and implementing a 140 million dirham liquid purification programme in the cities of laayoune and al mersa.
