நீங்கள் உண்மையாளராக இருப்பின், (அவ்வுயிரை) மீளவைத்திருக்கலாமே!

சில கதைகள் முழுமையற்றவை, ஆனால் அழகானவை

then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful.
நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாயிருப்பின், உங்கள் வேத (ஆதார)த்தைக் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்.

he said, ‘then bring it, should you be truthful.’
"நீர் உண்மையாளராக இருப்பின் அதை நீர் கொண்டு வாரும்" என (ஃபிர்அவ்ன்) பதில் கூறினான்.

then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.
ஆகவே, (இவ்வாறெல்லாம் கூறும்) அவர்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், இ(வ்வேதத்)தைப் போன்ற ஒரு செய்தியை அவர்கள் கொண்டு வரட்டும்.

and they say, "when is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
"நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாகயிருப்பின், இந்த (வேதனைக்கான) வாக்குறுதி எப்பொழுது (நிறைவேற்றப்படும்)?" என்று அவர்கள் கேட்கிறார்கள்.

and they say, "when will be this conquest, if you should be truthful?"
"நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால் (வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட) அந்த வெற்றித் (தீர்ப்பு நாள்) எப்பொழுது (வரும்)?" என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

and they say, ‘when will this promise be fulfilled, should you be truthful?’
இன்னும், அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்; "நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருப்பின், (மறுமை பற்றிய) அந்த வாக்குறுதி எப்பொழுது வந்து சேரும்?" என்று.

he said, ‘if you have brought a sign, produce it, should you be truthful.’
அதற்கு அவன், "நீர் அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கொண்டு வந்திருப்பீரானால் - நீர் உண்மையாளராக இருப்பின் அதைக் கொண்டுவாரும்" என்று கூறினான்.

or do they have partners? then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful.
அல்லது (பொறுப்பேற்க) அவர்களுக்கு இணை வைக்கும் கூட்டாளிகள் தாம் இருக்கின்றார்களா? அவ்வாறாயின், அவர்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால் அவர்களுடைய கூட்டாளிகளைக் கொண்டு வரட்டும்.

you are just a human being like us. so bring us a sign, should you be truthful.’
அவர் சொன்னார்; "இதோ (அத்தாட்சியாக) ஒரு பெண் ஒட்டகம்! (கிணற்றிலிருந்து) அதற்கு (ஒரு நாள்) தண்ணீர் குடிப்புண்டு உங்களுக்கும் குறிப்படப்பட்ட ஒரு நாளில் தண்ணீர் அருந்தும் முறை வரும்."

and they say, "when is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?"
"நீங்கள் உண்மையாளராக இருந்தால் (அச்ச மூட்டப்படும் வேதனை பற்றிய) இந்த வாக்குறுதி எப்போது (அமலுக்கு வரும்)" என்று அவர்கள் கேட்கிறார்கள்.

say, "then bring a scripture from allah which is more guiding than either of them that i may follow it, if you should be truthful."
ஆகவே, "நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால், இவ்விரண்டையும் விட நேர்வழிக்காட்டக் கூடிய வேதத்தை அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து நீங்கள் கொண்டு வாருங்கள்; நானும் அதைப்பின்பற்றுகிறேன்" என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்.

say thou: o ye e who are judaised! if ye imagine at ye are the friends of allah above mankind, then wish for death if ye be truthful.
(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: யஹூதிகளே! மற்ற மனிதர்களைவிட நீங்கள் தாம் அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பிரியமானவர்கள் என்று எண்ணுவீர்களானால், மேலும் (அவ்வெண்ணத்தில்) நீங்கள் உண்மையாளராக இருப்பின், நீங்கள் மரணத்தை விரும்புங்கள்."

indeed, those you [polytheists] call upon besides allah are servants like you. so call upon them and let them respond to you, if you should be truthful.
நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி எவர்களை நீங்கள் அழைக்கின்றீர்களோ, அவர்களும் உங்களைப் போன்ற அடிமைகளே நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால் நீங்கள் அவர்களை அழைத்துப் பாருங்கள் - அவர்கள் உங்களுக்கு பதில் அளிக்கட்டும்!

say, ‘tell me, should allah’s punishment overtake you, or should the hour overtake you, will you supplicate anyone other than allah, should you be truthful?
(நபியே! அவர்களிடம்) நீர் கூறும்; "அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வேதனை உங்களிடம் வந்து விட்டால், அல்லது (நீங்கள் அஞ்சும்) அந்த (விசாரணைக்) காலம் வந்துவிட்டால் (அதிலிருந்து உங்களைக் காப்பாற்ற) அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி (வேறு யாரையாவது) நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால் - அழைப்பீர்களா?" என்பதை (நீங்கள் சிந்தித்துப்) பார்த்தீர்களா?

and if you are in doubt about what we have sent down upon our servant [muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than allah, if you should be truthful.
இன்னும், (முஹம்மது (ஸல்) என்ற) நம் அடியாருக்கு நாம் அருளியுள்ள (வேதத்)தில் நீங்கள் சந்தேகம் உடையோராக இருப்பீர்களானால், (அந்த சந்தேகத்தில்) உண்மை உடையோராகவும் இருப்பீர்களானால் அல்லாஹ்வைத்தவிர உங்கள் உதவியாளர்களை(யெல்லாம் ஒன்றாக) அழைத்து (வைத்து)க்கொண்டு இது போன்ற ஓர் அத்தியாயமேனும் கொன்டு வாருங்கள்.
