ye have heard that it hath been said, an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
ዓይን ስለ ዓይን ጥርስም ስለ ጥርስ እንደ ተባለ ሰምታችኋል።

who do not turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to the signs of their lord when they are reminded of them ;
እነዚያም በጌታቸው አንቀጾች በተገሰጹ ጊዜ ( የተረዱ ተቀባዮች ኾነው እንጂ ) ደንቆሮዎችና ዕውሮች ኾነው በእርሷ ላይ የማይደፉት ናቸው ፡ ፡

the son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
የሰው ልጅ እየበላና እየጠጣ መጥቶአልና። እነሆ፥ በላተኛና የወይን ጠጅ ጠጭ፥ የቀራጮችና የኃጢአተኞች ወዳጅ አላችሁት።

the son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. but wisdom is justified of her children.
የሰው ልጅ እየበላና እየጠጣ መጣ፥ እነርሱም። እነሆ፥ በላተኛና የወይን ጠጅ ጠጭ፥ የቀራጮችና የኃጢአተኞች ወዳጅ ይሉታል። ጥበብም በልጆችዋ ጸደቀች።

allah has sealed up their hearts and ears and a covering has fallen over their eyes , and they have incurred the severest punishment .
አላህ በልቦቻቸው ላይ በመስሚያቸውም ላይ አትሞባቸዋል ፤ በዓይኖቻቸውም ላይ መሸፈኛ አልለ ፤ ለነሱም ታላቅ ቅጣት አላቸው ፡ ፡

and in the taurat , we made it obligatory upon them that , “ a life ( is the retribution ) for a life , and an eye for an eye , and a nose for a nose , and an ear for an ear , and a tooth for a tooth , and for wounds is a retribution ” ; then whoever willingly agrees to retribution , it shall redeem him of his sin ; and whoever does not judge according to what is sent down by allah – it is they who are the unjust .
በእነርሱም ላይ በውስጧ « ነፍስ በነፍስ ዓይንም በዓይን አፍንጫም በአፍንጫ ጆሮም በጆሮ ጥርስም በጥርስ ( ይያዛል ) ፡ ፡ » ቁስሎችንም ማመሳሰል አለባቸው ማለትን ጻፍን ፡ ፡ በእርሱም የመጸወተ ( የማረ ) ሰው እርሱ ለርሱ ( ለሠራው ኃጢአት ) ማስተሰሪያ ነው ፡ ፡ አላህም ባወረደው ነገር የማይፈርድ ሰው ፤ እነዚያ በደለኞቹ እነርሱ ናቸው ፡ ፡
