በሰሙድም በእነዚያ በሸለቆው ቋጥኝን የቆረጡ በኾኑት ፡ ፡

did you not see how did your lord deal with ( the tribe of ) aad ?
ጌታህ በዓድ እንዴት እንደ ሠራ አታውቅምን ?

o dear prophet ( mohammed peace and – blessings be upon him ) , did you not see how did your lord deal with the people of the elephant ?
በዝሆኑ ባለቤቶች ጌታህ እንዴት እንደሠራ አላወቅህምን ?

should you encounter them in war , then deal with them in such a manner that those that follow them should abandon their designs and may take warning .
በጦርም ላይ ብታገኛቸው በእነርሱ ቅጣት ምክንያት ( ሌሎቹ ከሓዲዎች ) ይገሰጹ ዘንድ ከኋላቸው ያሉትን በትንባቸው ፡ ፡

how many towns did i respite at first though they were steeped in iniquity , and then i seized them ! to me are all destined to return .
ከከተማ እርሷ በዳይ ሆና ለእርሷ ጊዜ የሰጠኋትና ከዚያም የያዝኳት ብዙ ናት ፡ ፡ መመለሻም ወደኔ ብቻ ነው ፡ ፡

leave it to me to deal with the deniers , who live a life of comfort , and bear with them a little longer .
የድሎት ባለቤቶችም ከኾኑት አስተባባዮች ጋር ተዎኝ ፡ ፡ ጥቂትንም ጊዜ አቆያቸው ፡ ፡

if thou comest on them in the war , deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them , that haply they may remember .
በጦርም ላይ ብታገኛቸው በእነርሱ ቅጣት ምክንያት ( ሌሎቹ ከሓዲዎች ) ይገሰጹ ዘንድ ከኋላቸው ያሉትን በትንባቸው ፡ ፡

leave it to me to deal with the affluent ones who give the lie ( to the truth ) , and bear with them for a while .
የድሎት ባለቤቶችም ከኾኑት አስተባባዮች ጋር ተዎኝ ፡ ፡ ጥቂትንም ጊዜ አቆያቸው ፡ ፡

allah does not forbid you from those who did not fight against you because of religion and did not drive you out from your homes , that you should be kind towards them and deal with them fairly ; indeed the equitable are the beloved of allah .
ከእነዚያ በሃይማኖት ካልተጋደሏችሁ ከአገሮቻችሁም ካላወጡዋችሁ ( ከሓዲዎች ) መልካም ብትውሉላቸውና ወደእነርሱ ብታስተካክሉ አላህ አይከለክላችሁም ፡ ፡ አላህ ትክክለኞችን ይወዳልና ፡ ፡

and leave me ( alone to deal with ) those in possession of the good things of life , who ( yet ) deny the truth ; and bear with them for a little while .
የድሎት ባለቤቶችም ከኾኑት አስተባባዮች ጋር ተዎኝ ፡ ፡ ጥቂትንም ጊዜ አቆያቸው ፡ ፡

do those who commit evil deeds imagine that we shall deal with them in the same way as we deal with those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds , that they will be alike in their living and their dying ? how badly they judge !
እነዚያ ኀጢአቶችን የሠሩ ሕይወታቸውም ሞታቸውም ትክክል ሲኾን እንደእነዚያ እንደ አመኑትና መልካሞችን እንደሠሩት ልናደርጋቸው ይጠረጥራሉን ? ( አይጠርጥሩ ) ፡ ፡ የሚፈርዱት ምንኛ ከፋ !

allah does not forbid you respecting those who have not made war against you on account of ( your ) religion , and have not driven you forth from your homes , that you show them kindness and deal with them justly ; surely allah loves the doers of justice .
ከእነዚያ በሃይማኖት ካልተጋደሏችሁ ከአገሮቻችሁም ካላወጡዋችሁ ( ከሓዲዎች ) መልካም ብትውሉላቸውና ወደእነርሱ ብታስተካክሉ አላህ አይከለክላችሁም ፡ ፡ አላህ ትክክለኞችን ይወዳልና ፡ ፡

( for ) indeed if they are driven out they go not out with them , and indeed if they are attacked they help them not , and indeed if they had helped them they would have turned and fled , and then they would not have been victorious .
ቢወጥጡ አብረዋቸው አይወጡም ፤ ቢገደሉም አይረዱዋቸውም ፡ ፡ ቢረዷቸውም ( ለሽሽት ) ጀርባቸውን ያዞራሉ ፡ ፡ ከዚያም እርዳታን አያገኙም ፡ ፡
