ne v libosti tělesných žádostí jako i pohané, kteříž boha neznají;

if one resolves to perform the pilgrimage in these months, let him not indulge in concupiscence, sin or quarrel.
ten, kdo se zavázal vykonat v nich pouť, nechť zdržuje se žen, prostopášnosti a hádek během pouti!

but sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. for without the law sin was dead.
ale příčinu vzav hřích skrze přikázaní, zplodil ve mně všelikou žádost. bez zákona zajisté hřích mrtev jest.

kdožkoli vezme na se pouť do mekky v těchto měsících, zdržujž se ženy, přestoupení příkazu a hádek po dobu pouti: cožkoliv dobrého pak učiníte, bude známo bohu.

mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
protož mrtvěte údy své zemské, smilstvo, nečistotu, chlípnost, žádost zlou, i lakomství, jenž jest modlám sloužení.

"if ye then be risen with christ, seek those things which are above, where christ sits on the right hand of god. set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. for ye are dead, and your life is hid with christ in god. mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: for which things sake the wrath of god comes on the children of disobedience" (colossians 3:1, 2, 3, 5, 6).
„když jste tedy byli vzkříšeni skristem, hledejte to, co je nahoře, kde po boží pravici sedí kristus. myslete na to, co je nahoře, ne na to, co je na zemi: neboť jste zemřeli aváš život je skristem ukryt vbohu. umrtvěte tedy své pozemské údy– smilstvo, nečistotu, vášeň, zlou žádostivost, ilakotu (což je modlářství), neboť kvůli těmto věcem přichází boží hněv na syny neposlušnosti“ (koloským 3:1,2,3,5,6).
