many a prophet had we sent to the earlier communities,
އަދި އިސްވެދިޔަ މީސްތަކުންގެގާތަށް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ކިތައްކިތައް ނަބިއްޔުން ފޮނުއްވިން ހެއްޔެވެ؟

we sent others before you, to the former communities.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އިސްވެދިޔަ أمّة ތަކުގެ ތެރެއަށް ކަލޭގެފާނުގެ ކުރިންވެސް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ رسول ން ފޮނުއްވީމެވެ.

certainly we sent [apostles] before you to former communities,
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އިސްވެދިޔަ أمّة ތަކުގެ ތެރެއަށް ކަލޭގެފާނުގެ ކުރިންވެސް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ رسول ން ފޮނުއްވީމެވެ.

and pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error,
އަދި فرعون އާއި، އޭނާގެ ކުރީގެ މީހުންނާއި، ބަންޑުންޖެއްސެވި ރަށްތަކުގެ މީހުން ފާފަކުރޫއެވެ.

how many communities of evil-doers we have destroyed, raising up other people after them.
އަނިޔާވެރިވި ކިތައްކިތައް ރަށުގެ أهل ވެރިން ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ހަލާކު ކުރެއްވިން ހެއްޔެވެ؟ އަދި އެއުރެންގެ ފަހުން އެހެންބަޔަކު ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އުފެއްދެވީމެވެ.

before them, not one of the communities which we destroyed believed either. will these believe?
އެއުރެންގެ ކުރިން إيمان ނުވި ކިތަންމެ ރަށެއްގެ أهل ވެރިންނެއް، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ހަލާކު ކުރެއްވީމެވެ. ވީއިރު އެއުރެން، ފަހެ، إيمان ވާނެ ހެއްޔެވެ؟

we sent messengers to communities before you, and we afflicted them with suffering and hardship, that they may humble themselves.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ކަލޭގެފާނުގެ ކުރީގެ أمّة ތަކަށްވެސް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ رسول ން ފޮނުއްވީމެވެ. ދެން (އެއުރެން كافر ވީހިނދު) ތަދުމަޑުކަމާއި ބަލިމަޑުކަން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންނަށް ޖެއްސެވީމެވެ. (އެއީ) އެއުރެން ކިޔަމަންވެ މަޑުމޮޅިވުމަށްޓަކައެވެ.

and if ye belie me, then communities before you have belied: and upon the apostle is naught but a preaching manifest.
އަދި ތިޔަބައިމީހުން (ތިމަންކަލޭގެފާނު) ދޮގުކުރިޔަސް (ތިމަން ކަލޭގެފާނަކަށް އެކަމަކުން ގެއްލުމެއް ނުލިބޭނެތެވެ. އެހެނީ) ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންގެ ކުރިންވެސް أمّة ތަކެއް (رسول ން) ދޮގުކޮށްފައިވެއެވެ. އަދި بيان ވެގެންވާ އިއްވެވުން މެނުވީ، رسول އާގެ މައްޗަކަށް ނުވެއެވެ.

o children of israel, remember that special favour i bestowed upon you, and that i exalted you above all the communities of the world.
އޭ إسـرآءيـل ގެދަރިންނޭވެ! ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ދެއްވި نعمة އާއި، އަދި (އެދުވަސްވަރުގެ) މީސްތަކުންގެ މައްޗަށް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ތިޔަބައިމީހުން މާތްކުރައްވާފައިވާކަން ހަނދުމަކުރާށެވެ!

and assuredly we sent apostles unto communities before thee; then we laid hold of them with adversity and distress, that haply they may humble themselves.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ކަލޭގެފާނުގެ ކުރީގެ أمّة ތަކަށްވެސް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ رسول ން ފޮނުއްވީމެވެ. ދެން (އެއުރެން كافر ވީހިނދު) ތަދުމަޑުކަމާއި ބަލިމަޑުކަން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންނަށް ޖެއްސެވީމެވެ. (އެއީ) އެއުރެން ކިޔަމަންވެ މަޑުމޮޅިވުމަށްޓަކައެވެ.

lest you should say, ‘the book was sent down only to two communities before us, and we were indeed unaware of their studies,’
ފޮތް ބާވައިލެއްވިކަން ކަށަވަރީ، ތިމަންމެންގެ ކުރީގައިވާ ދެބަޔެއްގެ މައްޗަށޭ، އަދި ތިމަންމެން، ހަމަކަށަވަރުންވެސް ތިބީ، އެއުރެން ކުޅަ دراسة އާމެދު غافل ވެގެންނޭ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ބުނެފާނެތީއެވެ.

we sent messengers before you [prophet] to many communities and afflicted their people with suffering and hardship, so that they might humble themselves.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ކަލޭގެފާނުގެ ކުރީގެ أمّة ތަކަށްވެސް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ رسول ން ފޮނުއްވީމެވެ. ދެން (އެއުރެން كافر ވީހިނދު) ތަދުމަޑުކަމާއި ބަލިމަޑުކަން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންނަށް ޖެއްސެވީމެވެ. (އެއީ) އެއުރެން ކިޔަމަންވެ މަޑުމޮޅިވުމަށްޓަކައެވެ.

all the beasts on land and flying birds have different communities, just as you (people) do. nothing is left without a mention in the book.
ބިމުގައި ހިނގާބިނގާއުޅޭ ދިރޭ ކޮންމެ އެއްޗެއްވިޔަސް، އަދި އޭގެ ދެފިޔައިން އުދުހޭ ދޫންޏެއްވިޔަސް، ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ފަދަ أمّة ތަކެއް ކަމުގައި ނޫޫނީނުވެއެވެ. ފޮތުގައި (ނުލިޔުއްވާ) ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއްވެސް އެއްޗެއް ދުލެއް ނުކުރައްވަމެވެ. ދެން އެތަކެތި (قيامة ދުވަހުން) އެއްކުރައްވާހުށީ އެތަކެތީގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެ حضرة އަށެވެ.

but the man of belief said: "o my people, what i fear for you is the like of what befell the communities (of old).
އަދި إيمان ވިމީހާ ބުންޏެވެ. އޭ އަހުރެންގެ قوم ގެމީހުންނޭވެ! كافر جماعة ތަކަށް عذاب އައި ދުވަސްފަދަ ދުވަހެއް، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް އަތުވެދާނެކަމަށް އަހުރެން ބިރުގަންނަމެވެ.

'surely this community of yours is one community, and i am your lord; so serve me.'
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، މިއީ، އެއް أمّة އެއް ކަމުގައިވާ ތިޔަބައިމީހުންގެ أمّة އެވެ. އަދި ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެއީ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ. ފަހެ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެއަށް އަޅުކަންކުރާށެވެ!
