at sunrise a dreadful shout seized them.
ފަހެ، އިރުއެރި ވަގުތުގައި ގަދަފަދައަޑު (އައިސް) އެއުރެން ހަލާކުކުރިއެވެ.

so how dreadful have been my torment and my warnings.
ފަހެ، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ عذاب އާއި، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ إنذار ތައްވީ ކޮންފަދައަކުންހެއްޔެވެ؟

how [dreadful] was my punishment and my warning!
ފަހެ، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ عذاب އާއި ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ إنذار ތައްވީ ކޮންފަދައަކުން ހެއްޔެވެ؟

on the day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion.
އެއީ އުޑު، ވަރަށްގަދަޔަށް ގުޑައިގެންދާ ދުވަހެވެ.

and because they denied and spoke dreadful calumnies of mary;
އަދި، އެއުރެން كافر ވުމުގެ ސަބަބުންނާއި، އަދި އެއުރެން مريم ގެފާނުގެ މައްޗަށް ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ بهتان ދޮގެއް ބުނުމުގެ ސަބަބުންމެއެވެ.

on the day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking,
އެއީ އުޑު، ވަރަށްގަދަޔަށް ގުޑައިގެންދާ ދުވަހެވެ.

'indeed, i fear for you the chastisement of a dreadful day.'
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ދުވަހެއްގެ عذاب އަށް ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނާމެދު ތިމަންކަލޭގެފާނު ބިރުފުޅުގަނެތެވެ.

and we rained down on them a rain. dreadful is the rain of those forewarned.
އަދި ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންގެ މައްޗަށް (ހިލައިގެ) ވާރޭއެއް ވެއްސެވީމެވެ. ފަހެ، إنذار ކުރައްވާފައިވާ މީހުންގެ (މައްޗަށް ވެހުނު) ވާރޭގެ ނުބައިކަމާއެވެ!

do not touch her with malice so that punishment of a dreadful day seizes you'
އަދި ތިޔަބައިމީހުން އެ އެއެއްޗަށް އެއްވެސް ގޯނާއެއް ނުކުރާށެވެ! ފަހެ، (އެހެން ހަދައިފިނަމަ) ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ދުވަހެއްގެ عذاب އައިސް ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ޖެހިދާނެތެވެ.

and we rained a rain upon them. dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.
އަދި ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންގެ މައްޗަށް (ހިލައިގެ) ވާރެއެއް ވެއްސެވީމެވެ. ފަހެ، إنذار ވެވުނު މީހުންގެ (މައްޗަށް ވެހުނު) ވާރޭގެ ނުބައިކަމާއެވެ!

allah hath prepared for them a dreadful doom. evil indeed is that which they are wont to do.
اللَّه، އެއުރެންނަށްޓަކައި ގަދަވެގެންވާ عذاب އެއް ތައްޔާރުކުރެއްވިއެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެން ކޮށްއުޅުނު ކަންތަކުގެ ނުބައިކަމާއެވެ!

and we pelted them with torrential rain. how dreadful that rain was for those who had been warned!
އަދި ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންގެ މައްޗަށް (ހިލައިގެ) ވާރެއެއް ވެއްސެވީމެވެ. ފަހެ، إنذار ވެވުނު މީހުންގެ (މައްޗަށް ވެހުނު) ވާރޭގެ ނުބައިކަމާއެވެ!

and do not touch her with malice so that there seize you the chastisement of a dreadful day.'
އަދި ތިޔަބައިމީހުން އެ އެއެއްޗަށް އެއްވެސް ގޯނާއެއް ނުކުރާށެވެ! ފަހެ، (އެހެން ހަދައިފިނަމަ) ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ދުވަހެއްގެ عذاب އައިސް ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ޖެހިދާނެތެވެ.

say, "i will never disobey my lord, for i fear the punishment of a dreadful day."
ކަލޭގެފާނު ވިދާޅުވާށެވެ! ތިމަންކަލޭގެފާނުގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެއަށް ތިމަންކަލޭގެފާނު އުރެދިއްޖެނަމަ، ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ދުވަހެއްގެ عذاب އަށް ހަމަކަށަވަރުން ތިމަންކަލޭގެފާނު ބިރުފުޅުގަނެއެވެ.

and there belied the 'a-ad; so how dreadful have been my torment and warning!
عاد ބާގައިމީހުންވެސް ދޮގުކުރޫއެވެ. ފަހެ، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ عذاب އާއި ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ إنذار ތައްވީ ކޮންފަދައަކުން ހެއްޔެވެ؟

but different parties began to dispute with one another. a dreadful woe awaits on that great day for those that reject the truth.
ފަހެ، އެއުރެންގެ އެކި جماعة ތަކުގެ މެދުގައި خلاف އުފެދުނެވެ. ފަހެ، ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ދުވަހެއްގެ (ބިރުވެރިކަން) ދެކޭހިނދު، كافر ވީ މީހުންނަށް ހަލާކާއި ގެއްލުންހުށްޓެވެ.

a thing about which they have no knowledge, neither they nor their ancestors. dreadful is the word that comes out of their mouths.
އެއުރެންނަކަށްވެސް، އަދި އެއުރެންގެ ކާބަފައިންނަކަށްވެސް (އެއުރެން އެބުނާ ބަހާމެދު) އެއްވެސް علم އެއް ލިބިފައެއް ނުވެއެވެ. އެއުރެންގެ އަނގަތަކުން އެނުކުންނަ ބަހެއްގެ ބޮޑުކަމާއެވެ! އެއުރެން އެ ބުނަނީ، ދޮގެއްކަމުގައިނޫނީ ނުވެއެވެ.

how many a town defied the command of its lord and his messengers? so we held it strictly accountable, and we punished it with a dreadful punishment.
އެ ރަށްރަށުގެ أهل ވެރިން އެއުރެންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެ أمر ފުޅަށާއި، އެކަލާނގެ رسول ންނަށް ނުކިޔަމަންތެރިވީ ކިތައްކިތައް ރަށްހެއްޔެވެ؟ ފަހެ، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންނާ މެދުގައި ގަދަވެގެންވާ حساب އަކުން حساب ބައްލަވައި، ބިރުވެރި عذاب އަކުން، އެއުރެންނަށް عذاب ދެއްވީމެވެ.

be not like those who are divided amongst themselves and fall into disputations after receiving clear signs: for them is a dreadful penalty,-
ފާޅުވެގެންވާ ހެކިތައް އެއުރެންނަށް އައުމަށްފަހު، ވަކިވަކިވެ خلاف ވީ މީހުން ފަދައިން، ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ނުވާށެވެ! ބޮޑުވެގެންވާ عذاب އެއް އެއުރެންނަށް ހުށްޓެވެ.

and many a town existed that rebelled against the command of its lord and his noble messengers, so we took a severe account from it – and struck them with a dreadful punishment.
އެ ރަށްރަށުގެ أهل ވެރިން އެއުރެންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެ أمر ފުޅަށާއި، އެކަލާނގެ رسول ންނަށް ނުކިޔަމަންތެރިވީ ކިތައްކިތައް ރަށްހެއްޔެވެ؟ ފަހެ، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންނާ މެދުގައި ގަދަވެގެންވާ حساب އަކުން حساب ބައްލަވައި، ބިރުވެރި عذاب އަކުން، އެއުރެންނަށް عذاب ދެއްވީމެވެ.
