and made the day for earning a livelihood.
އަދި ދިރިއުޅުމަށް މަސައްކަތްކުރުމުގެ ވަގުތެއް ކަމުގައި، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ދުވާލު ލެއްވީމެވެ.

then availed them not that which they had been earning.
ފަހެ، އެއުރެން ހޯދައި އުޅުނު عمل ތައް އެއުރެންނަކަށް އެއްވެސް ކަމެއް ފުއްދައެއް ނުދިނެވެ.

and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail.
ފަހެ، އެއުރެން ހޯދައި އުޅުނު عمل ތައް އެއުރެންނަކަށް އެއްވެސް ކަމެއް ފުއްދައެއް ނުދިނެވެ.

for them, their refuge is the fire for what they have been earning.
ހަމަަށަވަރުން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެއާ ބައްދަލުވާން ނޭދޭ، އަދި ދުނިޔޭގެ ދިރިއުޅުމަށްރުހި، އަދި އެކަމަށް ހިތްހަމަޖައްސައިގެންތިބެ ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ آية ތަކާމެދު غافل ވި މީހުން (ދަންނާށެވެ!) އެއުރެން ތިބެނިވި ތަނަކީ، ނަރަކައެވެ. (އެއީ) އެއުރެން ހޯދައިއުޅުނު عمل ތަކުގެ ސަބަބުންނެވެ.

no indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts.
ހަމަހިލާ އެހެންނަކުން ނުވާނެއެވެ. އަދި ކީއްހެއްޔެވެ؟ އެއުރެން ހޯދައިއުޅުނު عمل ތަކުގެ ސަބަބުން އެއުރެންގެ ހިތްތަކުގައި ދަބަރުޖަހާފައިވެއެވެ.

therefore let them laugh little, and weep much, in recompense for what they have been earning.
ފަހެ، އެއުރެން މަދުން ހޭހުށިކަމެވެ! އަދި އެއުރެން ގިނައިން ރޯހުށިކަމެވެ! (އެއީ) އެއުރެން ހޯދައިއުޅުނު عمل ތަކުގެ ޖަޒާއެއްގެ ގޮތުގައެވެ.

no! rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning.
ހަމަހިލާ އެހެންނަކުން ނުވާނެއެވެ. އަދި ކީއްހެއްޔެވެ؟ އެއުރެން ހޯދައިއުޅުނު عمل ތަކުގެ ސަބަބުން އެއުރެންގެ ހިތްތަކުގައި ދަބަރުޖަހާފައިވެއެވެ.

by no means!' aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning.
ހަމަހިލާ އެހެންނަކުން ނުވާނެއެވެ. އަދި ކީއްހެއްޔެވެ؟ އެއުރެން ހޯދައިއުޅުނު عمل ތަކުގެ ސަބަބުން އެއުރެންގެ ހިތްތަކުގައި ދަބަރުޖަހާފައިވެއެވެ.

little then let them laugh, and much they shall weep: the meed of that which they have been earning.
ފަހެ، އެއުރެން މަދުން ހޭހުށިކަމެވެ! އަދި އެއުރެން ގިނައިން ރޯހުށިކަމެވެ! (އެއީ) އެއުރެން ހޯދައިއުޅުނު عمل ތަކުގެ ޖަޒާއެއްގެ ގޮތުގައެވެ.

today we set a seal on their mouths, and their hands speak to us, and their feet bear witness as to what they have been earning.
މިއަދު ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންގެ އަނގަތަކުގައި ސިއްކަގައްސަވައި ބަންދުކުރައްވާހުށީމެވެ. އަދި އެއުރެންގެ އަތްތައް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެއަށް ބަސް ދަންނަވާނެތެވެ. އަދި އެއުރެން ހޯދައިއުޅުނު عمل ތަކާމެދު އެއުރެންގެ ފައިތައް ހެކިދޭނެތެވެ.

and those who annoy the believing men and the believing women, without their earning it, shall surely bear the guilt of calumny and manifest sin.
އަދި އެއުރެން ހޯދައިގަތް ކުށަކާނުލައި مؤمن ފިރިހެނުންނަށާއި، مؤمن އަންހެނުންނަށް އުނދަގޫކުރާ މީހުން (ދަންނާށެވެ!) ފަހެ، ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެންނީ بهتان ދޮގަކާއި، ފާޅުވެގެންވާ ފާފައެއް ލިބިގެންފި ބަޔެކެވެ.

and as for the tribe of the thamud we guided them but they preferred blindness to the guidance, wherefore the bolt of the torment of abjection laid hold of them because of that which they had been earning.
އަދި ثمود ބާގައިމީހުން ދަންނާށެވެ! ފަހެ، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންނަށް ތެދުމަގު ދެއްކެވީމެވެ. ފަހެ، އެއުރެން ތެދުމަގު ލިބުމުގެ ބަދަލުގައި، ކަނުކަން (އެބަހީ: މަގު ފުރެދުން) اختيار ކުރޫއެވެ. އެއުރެން ހޯދައިއުޅުނު عمل ތަކުގެ ސަބަބުން، އިހާނަތްތެރި عذاب ގެ ހޮނުގުގުރި އެއުރެންގައި ހިފިއެވެ.

thereafter, it will be said unto those who wronged themselves: taste the torment everlasting: ye are requited not save for that which ye have been earning.
ދެން އަނިޔާވެރިވި މީހުންނަށް އަންގަވާނެތެވެ. ދެމިހުންނަނިވި عذاب ގެ ރަހަ ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ލިބިގަންނާށެވެ! ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ހޯދައިއުޅުނު عمل ތަކުގެ ސަބަބުން މެނުވީ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ޖަޒާ ލިބޭހެއްޔެވެ؟

then it will be said to the evildoers: 'taste the chastisement of eternity! are you recompensed for aught but that you have been earning?'
ދެން އަނިޔާވެރިވި މީހުންނަށް އަންގަވާނެތެވެ. ދެމިހުންނަނިވި عذاب ގެ ރަހަ ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ލިބިގަންނާށެވެ! ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ހޯދައިއުޅުނު عمل ތަކުގެ ސަބަބުން މެނުވީ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ޖަޒާ ލިބޭހެއްޔެވެ؟

and had the people of those townships believed and feared, we would of a surety have opened up to them blessings from the heavens and the earth; but they belied, wherefore we laid hold of them for that which they had been earning.
ރަށްތަކުގެ أهل ވެރިން، إيمان ވެ تقوى ވެރިވީނަމަ، ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އުޑުންނާއި، ބިމުން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންގެ މައްޗަށް بركات ގެ މަގުތައް ހުޅުއްވައިދެއްވީމުހެވެ. އެހެނެއްކަމަކު، އެއުރެން ދޮގުކުރޫއެވެ. ދެން، އެއުރެން ހޯދައި އުޅުނު عمل ތަކަށްޓަކައި، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ (ކޯފާގެ عذاب ން) އެއުރެން ހިއްޕެވީމެވެ.

they will swear by allah to you when you return to them that you would leave them alone. so leave them alone; indeed they are evil; and their refuge is hell as recompense for what they had been earning.
ތިޔަބައިމީހުން އެއުރެންގެ ގާތަށް އެނބުރި އަތުވެއްޖެނަމަ، އެއުރެންގެ ކިބައިން ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ދުރުހެލިވެގަތުމަށް، اللَّه ގަންދީ އެއުރެން ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ގާތުގައި ހުވާކޮށް ހަދާނެތެވެ. ފަހެ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުން އެއުރެންނާ ދުރުހެލިވާށެވެ! ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެންނަކީ ނަޖިސް ބަޔެކެވެ. އަދި އެއުރެން ތިބެނިވި ތަނަކީ ނަރަކައެވެ. (އެއީ) އެއުރެން ހޯދައިއުޅުނު عمل ތަކުގެ ޖަޒާއެއްގެ ގޮތުގައެވެ.

(spend) for the poor who are restricted while in allah's cause, who cannot travel in the land (for earning) – the unwise think they are wealthy because of their restraint; you will recognise them by their faces; they do not seek from people in order to avoid grovelling; and allah knows whatever you spend in charity.
اللَّه ގެ މަގުގައި (جهاد ކުރުމުގައި) ބަންދުވެފައި ތިބި فقير ންނަށް (صدقات ދިނުން) ހުށްޓެވެ. އެއުރެންނަކަށް (ދިރިއުޅުމުގެ މަސައްކަތް ކުރުމަށް) ބިމުގައި ދަތުރުފަތުރުކޮށެއް ނޫޅެވެއެވެ. އެއުރެންގެ خبر ނުދަންނަ މީހާ ހީކުރަނީ، އެއްޗިއްސަށް ނޭދުމުގެ ސަބަބުން، އެއީ، މުއްސަނދިން ކަމަށެވެ. އެއުރެންގެ علامة ތަކުން، ތިބާޔަށް އެއުރެން އެނގޭނެތެވެ. އެއުރެން އެއްޗިއްސަށްއެދި، މީހުންނަށް އާދޭސްކޮށެއް ނޫޅޭނެތެވެ. ތިޔަބައިމީހުން މުދަލުން ހޭދަކުރާ ކޮންމެ އެއްޗަކާމެދު (ދަންނާށެވެ!) ފަހެ، ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، اللَّه، އެކަންތައް މޮޅަށް ދެނެވޮޑިގެންވެއެވެ.
