and i will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:
voi nimici cu desăvîrşire descîntecele din mijlocul tău, şi nu vei mai avea vrăjitori;

therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
căci ai părăsit pe poporul tău, pe casa lui iacov, pentrucă sînt plini de idolii răsăritului, şi dedaţi la vrăjitorie ca filistenii, şi se unesc cu fiii străinilor.

then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and i told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.
Îndată au venit vrăjitorii, cititorii în stele, haldeii şi ghicitorii. le-am spus visul, şi nu mi l-au putut tîlcui.

daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, the secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
daniel a răspuns înaintea împăratului, şi a zis: ,,ce cere împăratul este o taină pe care înţelepţii, cititorii în stele, vrăjitorii şi ghicitorii nu sînt în stare s'o descopere împăratului.

remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed.
aminteşte-ţi! tu nu eşti, har domnului tău, nici prezicător şi nici îndrăcit!
