and those who believe in allah and the last day will not seek exemption from you for not fighting with their wealth and their lives; and allah well knows the pious.
kaama idin waydiistaan kuwa rumeeyey eebe iyo maalinta dambe inay ku jahaadaan xoolahooda iyo naftooda, eebana waa ogyahay kuwa dhawrsada.

but blame is on those who ask you for exemption, although they are rich. they are content to be with those who stay behind. god has sealed their hearts, so they do not know.

some of the desert arabs, too, came to make excuses, asking to be granted exemption. those who lied to god and his messenger stayed behind at home. those who denied the truth among them will be afflicted with a painful chastisement,
