(mwenyezi mungu) aseme: msigombane mbele yangu. nilikuleteeni mbele onyo langu.

so contend not concerning them except with an outward contending, and ask not any of them to pronounce concerning them.
basi usibishane juu yao ila kwa mabishano ya juu juu tu hivi. wala usiulize khabari zao kwa yeyote yule.

and contend thou not for those who defraud their souls verily allah loveth not one who is a defrauder, sinner.
wala usiwatetee wanao khini nafsi zao. hakika mwenyezi mungu hampendi aliye khaaini, mwenye dhambi.

let them not therefore contend with thee in the affair; and call them thou unto thy lord, verily thou art on true guidance.
na waite watu kwendea kwa mola wako mlezi. hakika wewe uko kwenye uwongofu ulio nyooka.

contend not on behalf of such as betray their own souls; for allah loveth not one given to perfidy and crime:
wala usiwatetee wanao khini nafsi zao. hakika mwenyezi mungu hampendi aliye khaaini, mwenye dhambi.

as for those who contend with our signs seeking to frustrate [their purpose], they will be brought to the punishment.
na wanao jitahidi kuzipinga ishara zetu, wakaona watashinda, hao watahudhurishwa kwenye adhabu.

believers, argue only in the best way with the people of the book, [but contend not at all] with such of them as are unjust.
wala msijadiliane na watu wa kitabu ila kwa njia iliyo nzuri kabisa, isipo kuwa wale walio dhulumu miongoni mwao. na semeni: tumeyaamini yaliyo teremshwa kwetu na yaliyo teremshwa kwenu.

ah! ye are those who fell to contending respecting that whereof ye had some knowledge, wherefore then should ye contend respecting that whereof ye have no knowledge!
nyinyi mlibishana katika yale mliyo yajua. mbona sasa mnabishana katika yale msiyo yajua?

and those who contend respecting the religion of allah after it hath been acknowledged, their contention is void in the sight of their lord, and upon them shall befall wrath, and theirs shall be a severe torment.
na wanao hojiana juu ya mwenyezi mungu baada ya kukubaliwa, hoja za hawa ni baat'ili mbele ya mola wao mlezi, na juu yao ipo ghadhabu, na itakuwa kwao adhabu kali.

lo! it is ye who have contended for them in the life of the world; then who will contend for them with allah on the day of resurrection, or who shall be their champion?
hivyo nyinyi mmewatetea hawa katika uhai huu wa duniani. basi nani atakaye watetea kwa mwenyezi mungu siku ya kiyama?

and when they shall contend one with another in the fire, then the weak shall say to those who were proud: surely we were your followers; will you then avert from us a portion of the fire?
na watapo hojiana huko motoni, wanyonge watawaambia walio jitukuza: hakika sisi tulikuwa wafuasi wenu, basi je, hamtuondolei sehemu ya huu moto?
