have not my revelations been rehearsed unto you, and them ye have been belying?
je! hazikuwa aya zangu mkisomewa, na nyinyi mkizikanusha?

my signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight,
hakika zilikuwa aya zangu mkisomewa, nanyi mkirudi nyuma juu ya visigino vyenu,

surely my signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back.
hakika zilikuwa aya zangu mkisomewa, nanyi mkirudi nyuma juu ya visigino vyenu,

"were not my signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat them as falsehood?"
je! hazikuwa aya zangu mkisomewa, na nyinyi mkizikanusha?

"my signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels-
hakika zilikuwa aya zangu mkisomewa, nanyi mkirudi nyuma juu ya visigino vyenu,

when to him are rehearsed our signs, "tales of the ancients", he cries!
anapo somewa aya zetu, husema: hizi ni simulizi za uwongo za watu wa zamani!

and how would ye deny faith while unto you are rehearsed the signs of allah, and among you lives the messenger?
na vipi mkufuru hali nyinyi mnasomewa aya za mwenyezi mungu na mtume yuko kati yenu?

say thou: had allah so willed. would not have rehearsed it unto you, nor would he have acquainted you therewith.
sema: mwenyezi mungu angeli taka nisingeli kusomeeni, wala nisingeli kujuvyeni.

allowed unto you is the beast of the flock except that which is rehearsed unto you, not allowing the chase while ye are in a state of sanctity.
mmehalalishiwa wanyama wa mifugo, ila wale mnao tajiwa. lakini msihalalishe kuwinda nanyi mmo katika hija.

and when there are rehearsed unto them our plain revelations, they this messenger is naught but as a man who seeketh to prevent you from that which your fathers have been worshipping.
na wanapo somewa aya zetu zilizo wazi wanasema: huyu si chochote ila ni mtu anaye taka kukuzuieni na waliyo kuwa wakiabudu baba zenu.

and as for those who disbelieved: were not my revelations rehearsed unto you? but ye were stiff necked, and ye were a people guilty.
na ama walio kufuru, wataambiwa: kwani hamkuwa mkisomewa aya zangu nanyi mkapanda kichwa, na mkawa watu wakosefu?

and allowed unto you are the cattle, save that which hath been rehearsed unto you; so avoid the pollution of the idols, and avoid the word of falsehood.
na mmehalalishiwa nyama hoa ila wale mlio somewa. basi jiepusheni na uchafu wa masanamu, na jiepusheni na usemi wa uwongo.

and when our clear signs are rehearsed to them, their only contention is: “bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.”
na wakisomewa aya zetu zilizo wazi hawana hoja ila kusema: waleteni baba zetu, ikiwa nyinyi ni wasemao kweli.

and when our manifest signs are rehearsed unto them, thou recognizest repugnance on the countenaces of those who disbelieve; well- nigh they rush upon these who rehearse unto them our signs.
na wanapo somewa aya zetu zilizo wazi utaona chuki katika nyuso za walio kufuru. hukaribia kuwavamia wale wanao wasomea hizo aya zetu.

and when it is rehearsed unto them they say: we believe therein: verily it is truth from our lord: verily we have been even before it of those who submit themselves.
hakika hii ni haki inayo toka kwa mola wetu mlezi. hakika sisi kabla yake tulikuwa ni waislamu, tulio nyenyekea.

thus (is it revealed), that we may strengthen thy heart thereby, and we have rehearsed it to thee in slow, well-arranged stages, gradually.
hayo ni hivyo ili tuuthibitishe moyo wako, na ndio tumeisoma kwa mafungu.

and recite what is rehearsed to you in your homes, of the signs of allah and his wisdom: for allah understands the finest mysteries and is well-acquainted (with them).
na kumbukeni yasomwayo majumbani mwenu katika aya za mwenyezi mungu na hikima. kwa hakika mwenyezi mungu ni mjuzi wa mambo ya siri, na mwenye khabari.
