และอัลกุรอานนั้นมิใช่เรื่องไร้สาระ

we did not create the sky and the earth and what is between them for amusement.
และเรามิได้สร้างชั้นฟ้าและแผ่นดิน และสิ่งที่อยู่ในระหว่างทั้งสอง เพื่อการสนุกสนานอย่างไร้ประโยชน์

if we wanted amusement, we could have found it within us, were we to do so.
หากเราปรารถนาที่จะเอาเป็นเครื่องเล่นสนุกสนาน เราก็จะเอามันจากที่มีอยู่ที่เรา หากเราปรารถนาจะกระทำเช่นนั้น

had we wished to take to us an amusement we would have taken it to us from ours had we done so.

so leave them to their vain disputes and amusement till they meet their day (of reckoning) promised them,
ดังนั้น เจ้าจงปล่อยพวกเขาให้มั่วสุมและหลงระเริง จนกว่าพวกเขาจะได้พบกับวัน (กิยามะฮฺ) ของพวกเขา ซึ่งพวกเขาถูกสัญญาไว้

and when you call to prayer, they take it in ridicule and amusement. that is because they are a people who do not use reason.

the life of this world is but play and an amusement. if you believe and are cautious, he will give you your wage, and will not ask for your possessions.
การมีชีวิตอยู่ในโลกนี้ เป็นแต่เพียงการละเล่นและการสนุกสนานร่าเริงเท่านั้น และหากพวกเจ้าศรัทธาและยำเกรงพระองค์จะทรงประทานรางวัลของพวกเจ้าแก่พวกเจ้าและพระองค์จะไม่ทรงขอทรัพย์สินของพวกเจ้า

and the worldly life is not but amusement and diversion; but the home of the hereafter is best for those who fear allah, so will you not reason?
และชีวิตความเป็นอยู่แห่งโลกนี้นั้นมิใช่อะไรอื่น นอกจากการเล่น และการเพลิดเพลินเท่านั้น และแน่นอนสำหรับบ้านแห่งอาคีเราะห์ นั้นดียิ่งกว่า สำหรับบรรดาผู้ที่ยำเกรง พวกเจ้าไม่ใช้ปัญญาดอกหรือ?

what is the life of this world but amusement and play? but verily the home in the hereafter,- that is life indeed, if they but knew.
และการมีชีวิตอยู่ในโลกนี้มิใช่อื่นใด เว้นแต่เป็นการละเล่นและการสนุกสนานร่าเริง และแท้จริงสถานที่ในปรโลกนั้น แน่นอนมันคือชีวิตที่แท้จริงหากพวกเขาได้รู้

[this] worldly life is only amusement and diversion. and if you believe and fear allah, he will give you your rewards and not ask you for your properties.
การมีชีวิตอยู่ในโลกนี้ เป็นแต่เพียงการละเล่นและการสนุกสนานร่าเริงเท่านั้น และหากพวกเจ้าศรัทธาและยำเกรงพระองค์จะทรงประทานรางวัลของพวกเจ้าแก่พวกเจ้าและพระองค์จะไม่ทรงขอทรัพย์สินของพวกเจ้า

the worldly life is but useless amusement and sport (compared to) the life hereafter which is far better and is only for the pious. will you not then understand?
และชีวิตความเป็นอยู่แห่งโลกนี้นั้นมิใช่อะไรอื่น นอกจากการเล่น และการเพลิดเพลินเท่านั้น และแน่นอนสำหรับบ้านแห่งอาคีเราะห์ นั้นดียิ่งกว่า สำหรับบรรดาผู้ที่ยำเกรง พวกเจ้าไม่ใช้ปัญญาดอกหรือ?

and of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. those will have a humiliating punishment.
และในหมู่มนุษย์มีผู้ซื้อเอาเรื่องไร้สาระ เพื่อทำให้เขาหลงไปจากทางของอัลลอฮฺ โดยปราศจากความรู้ และถือเอามันเป็นเรื่องขบขัน ชนเหล่านี้พวกเขาจะได้รับการลงโทษอันอัปยศ

"such as took their religion to be mere amusement and play, and were deceived by the life of the world." that day shall we forget them as they forgot the meeting of this day of theirs, and as they were wont to reject our signs.
