indeed god has helped you on many occasions, even during the battle of hunain, when you were elated with joy at your numbers which did not prove of the least avail, so that the earth and its vast expanse became too narrow for you, and you turned back and retreated.
நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்குப் பல போர்க்களங்களில் உதவி செய்திருக்கின்றான்; (நினைவு கூறுங்கள்;) ஆனால் ஹுனைன் (போர் நடந்த) அன்று. உங்களைப் பெருமகிழ்ச்சி கொள்ளச் செய்த உங்களுடைய அதிகமான (மக்கள்) தொகை உங்களுக்கு எவ்விதப் பலனும் அளிக்கவில்லை, (மிகவும்) பரந்த பூமி உங்களுக்கு (அப்போது) சுருக்கமாகிவிட்டது. அன்றியும் நீங்கள் புறங்காட்டிப் பின்வாங்கலானீர்கள்.

and what you suffered (of the disaster) on the day (of the battle of uhud when) the two armies met, was by the leave of allah, in order that he might test the believers.
மேலும், (நீங்களும் முஷ்ரிக்குகளும் ஆகிய) இரு கூட்டத்தினரும் சந்தித்த நாளையில் உங்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்ட துன்பங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் அனுமதி கொண்டே தான் (ஏற்பட்டன. இவ்வாறு ஏற்பட்டதும்) முஃமின்களை (சோதித்து) அறிவதற்காகவேயாம்.

and (remember) when allah promised you (muslims) one of the two parties (of the enemy i.e. either the army or the caravan) that it should be yours, you wished that the one not armed (the caravan) should be yours, but allah willed to justify the truth by his words and to cut off the roots of the disbelievers (i.e. in the battle of badr).
(அபூஸுஃப்யான் தலைமையில் வரும் வியாபாரக் கூட்டம் அபூ ஜஹ்லின் தலைமையில் வரும் படையினர் ஆகிய) இரு கூட்டங்களில் (ஏதேனும்) ஒரு கூட்டத்தை (வெற்றி கொள்ளும் வாய்ப்பு) உங்களுக்கு உண்டு என்று, அல்லாஹ் வாக்களித்ததை நினைவு கூறுங்கள். ஆயுத பாணிகளாக இல்லாத (வியாபாரக் கூட்டம் கிடைக்க வேண்டுமென) நீங்கள் விரும்பினீர்கள்; (ஆனால்) அல்லாஹ் தன் திருவாக்குகளால் சத்தியத்தை நிலைநாட்டவும் காஃபிர்களை வேரறுக்கவுமே நாடுகிறான்.
