மேலும், உம்மைப் பின்பற்றி நடக்கும் முஃமின்களிடத்தில் தோள் தாழ்த்தி (க் கனிவுடன்) நடந்துக்கொள்வீராக

if he is of those of the right hand,
அன்றியும், அவர் வலப்புறத்துத் தோழராக இருந்தால்,

and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you.
மேலும், உம்மைப் பின்பற்றி நடக்கும் முஃமின்களிடத்தில் தோள் தாழ்த்தி (க் கனிவுடன்) நடந்துக்கொள்வீராக

then we evacuated those of the believers who were there,
ஆகவே அவ்வூரில் இருந்த முஃமின்களை (முதலில்) நாம் வெளியேற்றி விட்டோம்.

o prophet! sufficient for you is allah and those of the faithful who follow you.
நபியே! உமக்கும், முஃமின்களில் உம்மைப் பின்பற்றுவோருக்கும் அல்லாஹ்வே போதுமானவன்.

and those of the left hand, how wretched are those of the left hand!
இடது பாரிசத்திலுள்ளவர்களோ இடது பாரிசத்திலுள்ளவர்கள் யார்? (என்று அறிவீர்களா?)

"if we had a message from [those of] the former peoples,
"முன்னோர்களிடமிருந்து, (எங்களுக்கு இறை நினைவூட்டும்) ஏதேனும் ஒரு வேதத்தை நாங்கள் பெற்றிருந்தால் -

but those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand --
இடது பாரிசத்திலுள்ளவர்களோ இடது பாரிசத்திலுள்ளவர்கள் யார்? (என்று அறிவீர்களா?)

are you disbelievers mightier than those of the nations which we destroyed before or have you received amnesty through the ancient scriptures?
(சென்று போன) அவர்களை விட உங்களிலுள்ள காஃபிர்கள் மேலானவர்களா? அல்லது, உங்களுக்கு (வேதனையிலிருந்து) விலக்கு இருப்பதாக வேத ஆதாரம் உண்டா?

(this is a declaration of) immunity by allah and his apostle towards those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement.
(முஃமின்களே!) முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களில்) எவர்களுடன் நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்துள்ளீர்களோ, அவர்களிடமிருந்து அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

and shake the trunk of the palm-tree towards you, and it will drop ripe dates by you.”
"இன்னும், இந்த பேரீச்ச மரத்தின் கிளையைப் பிடித்து உம் அருகில் இழுத்துக் குலுக்கும்; (கொய்வதற்குப்) பக்குவமான பழங்களை உம் மீது அது உதிர்க்கும்.

o you who believe! fight those of the disbelievers who attack you, and let them find severity in you, and know that god is with the righteous.
நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவர்களே! உங்களை அடுத்திருக்கும் (தொல்லை விளைவிக்கும்) காஃபிர்களுடன் போர் புரியுங்கள்; உங்களிடம் கடுமையை அவர்கள் காணட்டும் - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் பயபக்தியுடையவர்களுடன் இருக்கிறன். என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.

and he brought down those of the people of the book who supported them from their fortresses and cast terror in their hearts; some you slew, some you made captive.
இன்னும், வேதக்காரர்களிலிருந்தும் (பகைவர்களுக்கு) உதவி புரிந்தார்களே அவர்களை (அல்லாஹ்) அவர்களுடைய கோட்டைகளிலிருந்து கீழே இறக்கி, அவர்களின் இருதயங்களில் திகிலைப் போட்டுவிட்டான்; (அவர்களில்) ஒரு பிரிவாரை நீங்கள் கொன்று விட்டீர்கள்; இன்னும் ஒரு பிரிவாரைச் சிறைப்பிடித்தீர்கள்.

and assuredly ye know of those of you who trespassed in the matter of the sabbath, wherefore we said unto them: be ye apes despised.
உங்க(ள் முன்னோர்க)ளிலிருந்து சனிக்கிழமையன்று (மீன் பிடிக்கக் கூடாது என்ற) வரம்பை மீறியவர்களைப்பற்றி நீங்கள் உறுதியாக அறிவீர்கள். அதனால் அவர்களை நோக்கி "சிறுமையடைந்த குரங்குகளாகி விடுங்கள்" என்று கூறினோம்.

"judge thou, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the believers who are with me."
ஆகவே, நீ எனக்கும், அவர்களுக்கு மிடையே தீர்ப்புச் செய்து, என்னையும், என்னுடனிருக்கும் முஃமின்களையும் இரட்சிப்பாயாக!" (என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார்.)

a (declaration) of immunity from allah and his messenger, to those of the pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances:-
(முஃமின்களே!) முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களில்) எவர்களுடன் நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்துள்ளீர்களோ, அவர்களிடமிருந்து அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

and he brought those of the people of the scripture who supported them down from their strongholds, and cast panic into their hearts. some ye slew, and ye made captive some.
இன்னும், வேதக்காரர்களிலிருந்தும் (பகைவர்களுக்கு) உதவி புரிந்தார்களே அவர்களை (அல்லாஹ்) அவர்களுடைய கோட்டைகளிலிருந்து கீழே இறக்கி, அவர்களின் இருதயங்களில் திகிலைப் போட்டுவிட்டான்; (அவர்களில்) ஒரு பிரிவாரை நீங்கள் கொன்று விட்டீர்கள்; இன்னும் ஒரு பிரிவாரைச் சிறைப்பிடித்தீர்கள்.

and he brought those of the people of the book who backed them down from their fortresses and cast into their hearts terror; a part of them ye slew, and ye made captives a part.
இன்னும், வேதக்காரர்களிலிருந்தும் (பகைவர்களுக்கு) உதவி புரிந்தார்களே அவர்களை (அல்லாஹ்) அவர்களுடைய கோட்டைகளிலிருந்து கீழே இறக்கி, அவர்களின் இருதயங்களில் திகிலைப் போட்டுவிட்டான்; (அவர்களில்) ஒரு பிரிவாரை நீங்கள் கொன்று விட்டீர்கள்; இன்னும் ஒரு பிரிவாரைச் சிறைப்பிடித்தீர்கள்.
