certainly you will find the most violent of people in enmity for those who believe (to be) the jews and those who are polytheists, and you will certainly find the nearest in friendship to those who believe (to be) those who say: we are christians; this is because there are priests and monks among them and because they do not behave proudly.
நிச்சயமாக யூதர்களையும், இணைவைப்பவர்களையும் முஃமின்களுக்குக் கடும் பகைவர்களாகவே (நபியே!) நீர் காண்பீர். "நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக இருக்கின்றோம்" என்று சொல்பவர்களை, முஃமின்களுக்கு நேசத்தால் மிகவும் நெருங்கியவர்களாக (நபியே!) நீர் காண்பீர். ஏனென்றால் அவர்களில் கற்றறிந்த குருமார்களும், துறவிகளும் இருக்கின்றனர். மேலும் அவர்கள் இறுமாப்புக் கொள்வதுமில்லை.
