அன்றியும், முன்னிருந்தார்களிடமும் நாம் எத்தனையோ தூதர்களை அனுப்பியிருக்கிறோம்.

it is we who have created you. why then did you not testify to the truth?
நாமே உங்களைப் படைத்தோம். எனவே, (நாம் கூறுவதை) நீங்கள் உண்மையென்று நம்ப வேண்டாமா?

how many messengers did we send to the ancient people?

how many a prophet did we send to the earlier peoples!

have you not seen those who dispute with respect to the communications of allah: how are they turned away?
அல்லாஹ்வின் வசனங்களைப் பற்றித் தர்க்கம் செய்பவர்களை நீங்கள் பார்க்கவில்லையா? எவ்வாறு அவர்கள் (சத்தியத்தை விட்டும்) திருப்பப்படுகின்றனர்?

(since wealth does not necessarily guarantee everlasting happiness) then why do you not show kindness to the orphans,
அப்படியல்ல! நீங்கள் அநாதையைக் கண்ணியப்படுத்துவது இல்லை.

and if ye call them to the guidance, they follow you not. whether ye call them or are silent is all one for you.

have you not noticed those who have been given a portion of the book? whenever their learned men are summoned to the book of allah to judge the differences between them, a party of them turns away in aversion.
வேதத்தில் ஒரு பாகம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்(களான யூதர்)களை நீர் கவனிக்கவில்லையா? அவர்களிடையே (ஏற்பட்ட விவகாரத்தைப் பற்றி) அல்லாஹ்வின் வேதத்தைக் கொண்டு தீர்ப்பளிக்க அவர்கள் அழைக்கப்பட்டார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்களில் ஒரு பிரிவார் (இதைப்) புறக்கணித்து விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

have you not seen those who have received a portion of the book being called to the book of allah, that it might judge between them, and some turned away, swerving aside.
வேதத்தில் ஒரு பாகம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்(களான யூதர்)களை நீர் கவனிக்கவில்லையா? அவர்களிடையே (ஏற்பட்ட விவகாரத்தைப் பற்றி) அல்லாஹ்வின் வேதத்தைக் கொண்டு தீர்ப்பளிக்க அவர்கள் அழைக்கப்பட்டார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்களில் ஒரு பிரிவார் (இதைப்) புறக்கணித்து விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

have you not seen the people who have received a part of revelation who are called to the book of god that it may judge (in their disputes) between them? but some, being averse turn away,
வேதத்தில் ஒரு பாகம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்(களான யூதர்)களை நீர் கவனிக்கவில்லையா? அவர்களிடையே (ஏற்பட்ட விவகாரத்தைப் பற்றி) அல்லாஹ்வின் வேதத்தைக் கொண்டு தீர்ப்பளிக்க அவர்கள் அழைக்கப்பட்டார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்களில் ஒரு பிரிவார் (இதைப்) புறக்கணித்து விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

have you not considered those who were given a share of the scripture, as they were called to the scripture of god to arbitrate between them; then some of them turned back, and declined?
வேதத்தில் ஒரு பாகம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்(களான யூதர்)களை நீர் கவனிக்கவில்லையா? அவர்களிடையே (ஏற்பட்ட விவகாரத்தைப் பற்றி) அல்லாஹ்வின் வேதத்தைக் கொண்டு தீர்ப்பளிக்க அவர்கள் அழைக்கப்பட்டார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்களில் ஒரு பிரிவார் (இதைப்) புறக்கணித்து விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

and not say, when evil befalls them on account of that which their hands forwarded: 'our lord, why did you not send a messenger to us so that we might follow your verses and so that we might be among the believers'
அவர்களுடைய கைகள் செய்து முற்படுத்திய(தீ)வினை காரணமாக, அவர்களுக்கு ஏதேனும் சோதனை வரும்போது அவர்கள்; "எங்கள் இறைவா! நீ எங்களுக்குத் தூதர் ஒருவரை அனுப்பிவைத்திருக்க வேண்டாமா? அப்போது நாங்கள் உன் வசனங்களை பின்பற்றி நாங்களும் முஃமின்களில் உள்ளவர்களாகியிருப்போமே!" என்று கூறாதிருக்கும் பொருட்டும் (உம்மை அவர்களிடையே தூதராக அனுப்பினோம்).

and if we had destroyed them with a punishment before him, they would have said, "our lord, why did you not send to us a messenger so we could have followed your verses before we were humiliated and disgraced?"
இன்னும் (நம் தூதர்) வருவதற்கு முன், நாம் இவர்களை வேதனை செய்து அழித்திருந்தால், அவர்கள், "எங்கள் இறைவா! நீ எங்களுக்கு ஒரு தூதரை அனுப்பியிருக்க வேண்டாமா? அவ்வாறாயின் நாங்கள் சிறுமைப்படுவதற்கும், கேவலப்படுவதற்கும் முன் உன் வசனங்களைப் பின்பற்றியிருப்போமே" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

have you not considered those (jews) who are given a portion of the book? they are invited to the book of allah that it might decide between them, then a part of them turn back and they withdraw.
வேதத்தில் ஒரு பாகம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்(களான யூதர்)களை நீர் கவனிக்கவில்லையா? அவர்களிடையே (ஏற்பட்ட விவகாரத்தைப் பற்றி) அல்லாஹ்வின் வேதத்தைக் கொண்டு தீர்ப்பளிக்க அவர்கள் அழைக்கப்பட்டார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்களில் ஒரு பிரிவார் (இதைப்) புறக்கணித்து விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

and were it not that there should befall them a disaster for what their hands have sent before, then they should say: our lord! why didst thou not send to us an apostle so that we should have followed thy communications and been of the believers!
அவர்களுடைய கைகள் செய்து முற்படுத்திய(தீ)வினை காரணமாக, அவர்களுக்கு ஏதேனும் சோதனை வரும்போது அவர்கள்; "எங்கள் இறைவா! நீ எங்களுக்குத் தூதர் ஒருவரை அனுப்பிவைத்திருக்க வேண்டாமா? அப்போது நாங்கள் உன் வசனங்களை பின்பற்றி நாங்களும் முஃமின்களில் உள்ளவர்களாகியிருப்போமே!" என்று கூறாதிருக்கும் பொருட்டும் (உம்மை அவர்களிடையே தூதராக அனுப்பினோம்).
