he will say, ‘how many years did you remain on earth?’
"ஆண்டுகளின் எண்ணிக்கையில் நீங்கள் பூமியில் எவ்வளவு (காலம்) இருந்தீர்கள்?" என்று கேட்பான்.

"how can you remain patient with that which you do not fully understand?"
"(ஏனெனில்) எதைப் பற்றி உமக்கு முழுமையான ஞானம் இல்லையோ, அதில் நீர் எவ்வாறு பொறுமையாயிருப்பீர்!" (என்று கேட்டார்.)

[allah] will say, "how long did you remain on earth in number of years?"
"ஆண்டுகளின் எண்ணிக்கையில் நீங்கள் பூமியில் எவ்வளவு (காலம்) இருந்தீர்கள்?" என்று கேட்பான்.

if you remain patient and god-fearing, and the enemy should fall upon you all of a sudden, your lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels clearly marked!"
ஆம்! நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்து பொறுமையுடனிருந்தால், பகைவர்கள் உங்கள் மேல் வேகமாக வந்து பாய்ந்த போதிலும், உங்கள் இறைவன் போர்க்குறிகள் கொண்ட ஐயாயிரம் வானவர்களைக் கொண்டும் உங்களுக்கு உதவி புரிவான்.

o you who believe! if you remain conscious of god, he will give you a criterion, and will remit from you your sins, and will forgive you. god is possessor of infinite grace.
ஈமான் கொண்டவர்களே! நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அஞ்சி நடந்து கொள்வீர்களானால் அவன் உங்களுக்கு (நன்மை தீமையைப்) பிரித்தறிந்து நடக்கக்கூடிய நேர்வழி காட்டுவான்; இன்னும் உங்களை விட்டும் உங்கள் பாவங்களைப் போக்கி உங்களை மன்னிப்பான்; ஏனெனில் அல்லாஹ் மகத்தான அருட்கொடையுடையவன்.

if anything good happens to you they are grieved; if any misfortune befalls you they rejoice at it. but if you remain steadfast and mindful of allah their designs will not cause you harm. allah surely encompasses all that they do.
ஏதாவது ஒரு நன்மை உங்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்டால், அது அவர்களுக்கு வருத்தத்தை கொடுக்கிறது. உங்களுக்கு ஏதாவது தீமை ஏற்பட்டால், அதற்காக அவர்கள் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறார்கள். நீங்கள் பொறுமையுடனும், பயபக்தியுடனுமிருந்தால் அவர்களுடைய சூழ்ச்சி உங்களுக்கு எந்தத் தீமையும் செய்யாது. நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் செய்வதை (எல்லாம்) சூழ்ந்து அறிகிறவன்.

yes, if you remain patient and conscious of allah and the enemy come upon you [attacking] in rage, your lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels having marks [of distinction]
ஆம்! நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்து பொறுமையுடனிருந்தால், பகைவர்கள் உங்கள் மேல் வேகமாக வந்து பாய்ந்த போதிலும், உங்கள் இறைவன் போர்க்குறிகள் கொண்ட ஐயாயிரம் வானவர்களைக் கொண்டும் உங்களுக்கு உதவி புரிவான்.

permitted to you is the game of the sea and the food of it, as a provision for you and for the journeyers; but forbidden to you is the game of the land, so long as you remain in pilgrim sanctity; and fear god, unto whom you shall be mustered.
உங்களுக்கும் (இதர) பிரயாணிகளுக்கும் பலன் கிடைக்கும் பொருட்டு (நீங்கள் இஹ்ராம் கட்டியிருந்தாலும்) கடலில் வேட்டையாடுவதும், அதைப் புசிப்பதும் உங்களுக்கு ஹலாலாக - ஆகுமானதாக ஆக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆனால் நீங்கள் இஹ்ராம் கட்டியிருக்கும் காலமெல்லம் தரையில் வேட்டையாடுவது உங்கள் மீது ஹராமாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. எனவே நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அஞ்சி நடந்து கொள்ளுங்கள், அவனிடத்திலேயே நீங்கள் ஒன்று சேர்க்கப்படுவீர்கள்.

(believers!) you will certainly be put to test in respect of your properties and lives, and you will certainly hear many hurtful things from those who were granted the book before you and those who have associated others with allah in his divinity. if you remain patient and god-fearing this indeed is a matter of great resolution.
(முஃமின்களே!) உங்கள் பொருள்களிலும், உங்கள் ஆத்மாக்களிலும் திடமாக நீங்கள் சோதிக்கப்படுவீர்கள்;. உங்களுக்கு முன் வேதம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டோரிடமிருந்து, இணை வைத்து வணங்குவோரிடமிருந்தும் நிந்தனைகள் பலவற்றையும் செவிமடுப்பீர்கள்;. ஆனால் நீங்கள் பொறுமையை மேற்கொண்டு, (இறைவனிடம்) பயபக்தியோடு இருந்தீர்களானால் நிச்சயமாக அதுவே எல்லாக் காரியங்களிலும் (நன்மையைத் தேடி தரும்) தீர்மானத்துக்குரிய செயலாகும்.
