and we lay veils upon their hearts lest they understand it, and in their ears heaviness.
Ва бар дилҳошон парда афканем, то онро дарнаёбанд ва гӯшҳошон сангин кунем.

and we drape veils over their hearts, preventing them from understanding it, and heaviness in their ears.
Ва бар дилҳошон парда афканем, то онро дарнаёбанд ва гӯшҳошон сангин кунем.

when our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness.
Ва чун оёти Мо бар онҳо хонда шавад, бо худписандӣ рӯй баргардонанд, чунон ки гӯӣ нашунидаанд. Ё монанди касе, ки гӯшҳояш сангин (вазнин) шуда бошад.

and we have placed coverings on their hearts and a heaviness in their ears lest they understand it, and when you mention your lord alone in the quran they turn their backs in aversion.
Ва бар дилҳошон парда афканем, то онро дарнаёбанд ва гӯшҳошон сангин кунем. Ва чун Парвардигоратро дар Қуръон ба яктоӣ ёд кунӣ, бозмегарданду мераманд.

among them are those who listen to you; but we place covers over their hearts, to prevent them from understanding it, and heaviness in their ears.
Баъзе аз онҳо ба сухани ту гӯш медиҳанд, вале Мо бар дилҳояшон пардаҳо афкандаем, то онро дарнаёбанд ва гушҳояшонро вазнин кардаем.

and we set up over their hearts veils lest they understand it, and in their ears heaviness and when thou mentionest in reciting the qur'an thy lord alone, they turn backward as averters.
Ва бар дилҳошон парда афканем, то онро дарнаёбанд ва гӯшҳошон сангин кунем. Ва чун Парвардигоратро дар Қуръон ба яктоӣ ёд кунӣ, бозмегарданду мераманд.

but as for those who do not believe: there is heaviness in their ears, and it is blindness for them. these are being called from a distant place.”
Бигӯ: «Ин китоб барои онҳо, ки имон оварданд, ҳидоят ва шифост ва онҳо, ки имон наоварданд, гӯшҳояшон сангин аст ва чашмонашон кӯр аст, чунонанд, ки гӯи онҳоро аз ҷое дур садо мекунанд.

and when our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement.
Ва чун оёти Мо бар онҳо хонда шавад, бо худписандӣ рӯй баргардонанд, чунон ки гӯӣ нашунидаанд. Ё монанди касе, ки гӯшҳояш сангин (вазнин) шуда бошад.

and they say: our hearts are under coverings from that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you, so work, we too are working.
Гуфтанд: «Дилҳои мо аз он чӣ моро ба он даъват мекунӣ, дар парда аст ва гӯшҳоямон сангин аст ва миёни мову ту ҳиҷобест. Ту ба кори худ пардоз ва мо низ ба кори худ мепардозем».

(it is) a scripture that is revealed unto thee (muhammad) - so let there be no heaviness in thy heart therefrom - that thou mayst warn thereby, and (it is) a reminder unto believers.
Китобест, ки бар ту нозил шуда, дар дили ту аз он шубҳае набошад, то ба он бим диҳӣ (тарсонӣ) ва мӯъминонро панде бошад.
