Бигӯ: «Агар шумо имон оварда будед, аз чӣ сабаб паёмбарони Худоро пеш аз ин мекуштед?».

in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller.
Бар он такаббур мекардед ва шабҳангом дар аф- сонасароӣ носазо мегуфтед.

say, "why did you kill god's prophets in the past, if you were true believers?
Бигӯ: «Агар шумо имон оварда будед, аз чӣ сабаб паёмбарони Худоро пеш аз ин мекуштед?».

when it comes, it will come unawares." they ask you about it as if you were in the know.
Фаро расидани он бар осмониёну заминиён пӯшида аст, ба ногаҳон бар шумо ояд», Чунон аз ту мепурсанд, ки гӯӣ ту аз он огоҳӣ.

if you were to write it off as an act of charity, that would be better for you, if only you knew.
Ва агар доно бошед, донед, ки чун бар ӯ бубахшоед, бароятон беҳтар аст!

(muhammad) ask them, "why did you murder god's prophets if you were true believers?"
Бигӯ: «Агар шумо имон оварда будед, аз чӣ сабаб паёмбарони Худоро пеш аз ин мекуштед?».

it will not overtake you but suddenly.’ they ask you as if you were in the know of it.
Фаро расидани он бар осмониёну заминиён пӯшида аст, ба ногаҳон бар шумо ояд», Чунон аз ту мепурсанд, ки гӯӣ ту аз он огоҳӣ.

say, "then why did you kill the prophets of allah before, if you are [indeed] believers?"
Бигӯ: «Агар шумо имон оварда будед, аз чӣ сабаб паёмбарони Худоро пеш аз ин мекуштед?».

say, “messengers have come to you before me with proofs, and with what you asked for; so why did you assassinate them, if you are truthful?”
Бигӯ: «Пеш аз ман паёмбароне бо мӯъҷизаҳо ва он чи акнун мехоҳед, омадаанд, агар рост мегӯед, чаро онҳоро куштед?»

say (to them, o dear prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “why did you then martyr the earlier prophets, if you believed in your book?”
Ва ба ғайри он ҳарчанд бо ҳақиқат ҳамроҳ бошад ва китобашро ҳам тасдиқ кунад, имон намеоваранд. Бигӯ: «Агар шумо имон оварда будед, аз чӣ сабаб паёмбарони Худоро пеш аз ин мекуштед?».

say: the knowledge of it is only with my lord; none but he shall manifest it at its time; it will be momentous in the heavens and the earth; it will not come on you but of a sudden. they ask you as if you were solicitous about it.
Танҳо Ӯст, ки чун замонаш фаро расад, ошкораш месозад. Фаро расидани он бар осмониёну заминиён пӯшида аст, ба ногаҳон бар шумо ояд», Чунон аз ту мепурсанд, ки гӯӣ ту аз он огоҳӣ.

but if you were to receive a favor from god, they would certainly say, "(we have been ignored) as if there was no friendship among us. would that we had been there with them for we would have had a great success."
Ва чун моле аз ҷониби Худо насибатон шавад, чунон ки гӯӣ миёнатон ҳеҷ гуна дӯстие набудааст, гӯяд; «Эй кош, ман низ бо онҳо мебудам ва ба фондае бузург даст меёфтам!»

tell those who say, ‘allah has pledged us not to believe in any apostle unless he brings us an offering consumed by fire,’ ‘apostles before me certainly did bring you manifest signs and what you speak of. then why did you kill them, if you are truthful?’
Касоне гуфтанд: «Моро бо Худо аҳдест, ки ба ҳеҷ паёмбаре имон наёварем, магар барои мо қурбоние биёварад, ки оташ онро бихӯрад». Бигӯ: «Пеш аз ман паёмбароне бо мӯъҷизаҳо ва он чи акнун мехоҳед, омадаанд, агар рост мегӯед, чаро онҳоро куштед?»

(muhammad), say to those who say, 'god has commanded us not to believe any messenger unless he offers a burnt offering,' (muhammad) say, "messengers came to you before me with certain miracles and with that which you had asked for (burnt offering). why, then, did you slay them if you were true in your claim?"
Касоне гуфтанд: «Моро бо Худо аҳдест, ки ба ҳеҷ паёмбаре имон наёварем, магар барои мо қурбоние биёварад, ки оташ онро бихӯрад». Бигӯ: «Пеш аз ман паёмбароне бо мӯъҷизаҳо ва он чи акнун мехоҳед, омадаанд, агар рост мегӯед, чаро онҳоро куштед?»
