the lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
uyehova usenzele izinto ezinkulu, saba ngabavuyayo.

i will cry unto god most high; unto god that performeth all things for me.
ndinqula uthixo osenyangweni, uthixo ondifezelayo.

then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, the lord hath done great things for them.
waza wazala kukuhleka umlomo wethu, lwazala kukumemelela ulwimi lwethu. baza bathi phakathi kweentlanga, uyehova ubenzele izinto ezinkulu aba.

and seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, i will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the lord: but thy life will i give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
wena uzifunela izinto ezinkulu; musa ukuzifuna. ngokuba, uyabona, ndiyizisela ububi inyama yonke, utsho uyehova; ke ndikunika umphefumlo wakho ube lixhoba lakho, ezindaweni zonke oya kuya kuzo.

and he said, what shall i give thee? and jacob said, thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, i will again feed and keep thy flock:
wathi, ndikunike ntoni na? wathi uyakobi, akuyi kundinika nento le; ukuba uthe wandenzela le ndawo, ndobuya ndiyaluse impahla yakho emfutshane, ndiyigcine.
