woe on that day unto the beliers
« ويل يومئذ للمكذبين » هذا وعيد لهم .

wherefore obey not thou the beliers .
« فلا تطع المكذبين » .

woe on that day unto the beliers !
« ويل يومئذ للمكذبين » تأكيد .

woe , then , will be on that day to the beliers
« فويل » شدة عذاب « يومئذ للمكذبين » للرسل .

and verily we ! we know that some among you are beliers thereof .
« وإنا لنعلم أن منكم » أيها الناس « مكذبين » بالقرآن ومصدقين .

say thou : go about in the earth and then see what wise hath been the end of the beliers .
« قل » لهم « سيروا في الأرض ثم انظروا كيف كان عاقبة المكذبين » الرسل من هلاكهم بالعذاب ليعتبروا .

and let me alone with the beliers , owners of ease : and respite thou them a little .
« وذرني » اتركني « والمكذبين » عطف على المفعول معه والمعنى أنا كافيكهم وهم صناديد قريش « أُولي النعمة » التنعم « ومهلهم قليلا » من الزمن فقتلوا بعد يسير منه ببدر .

dispensations have gone forth before you go about then on the earth , and behold what wise hath been the end of the beliers !
ونزل في هزيمة أحد « قد خلَت » مضت « من قبلكم سُنَن » طرائق في الكفار بإمهالهم ثم أخذهم « فسيروا » أيها المؤمنون « في الأرض فانظروا كيف كان عاقبة المكذبين » الرسل أي آخر أمرهم من الهلاك فلا تحزنوا لغلبتهم فإنا أمهلناهم لوقتهم .

and leave me alone to deal with the beliers ( those who deny my verses , etc . ) , and those who are in possession of good things of life . and give them respite for a little while .
« وذرني » اتركني « والمكذبين » عطف على المفعول معه والمعنى أنا كافيكهم وهم صناديد قريش « أُولي النعمة » التنعم « ومهلهم قليلا » من الزمن فقتلوا بعد يسير منه ببدر .
