durante il meeting ho registrato anche un video con tim hall (vp of product management) e gli ho chiesto di parlare dell’approccio di hortonworks e di come questa si pone nel mercato hadoop in generale.
in this short video, i asked tim hall (vp product management) to talk a little bit about hortonworks, the ideas behind the company as well as its position about hadoop.

e’ chiaro che isilon sta interpretando bene le richieste che vengono dal mercato enterprise: le aziende, non solo quelle gigantesche, stanno iniziando ad approcciare nuovi modi per raccogliere informazioni ed elaborarle ma, nel contempo, sono terrorizzate dalla complessità dei cluster tradizionali hadoop.
it’s clear that isilon has hit the mark by responding to this new request from the enterprise market: enterprises, not only the biggest ones, are approaching new ways to collect and analyze data, but they are scared by the complexity of traditional hadoop clusters.
