dhaartoodii bay gaashaan ka dhigteen dadkana xaqiibay ka leexiyeen waxayna mudan yihiin cadaab wax ihaaneeya.
they have made their oaths a screen (for their evil actions). thus they hinder (men) from the path of allah, so they shall have a humiliating torment.

maxay ugu gargaariwaayeen kuway ilaahyaal ay u dhawaadaan ka dhigteen eebe ka sokow, way ka dhumeen, taasina waa beentoodii iyo war abuurashadoodii.
so why did not those [fake deities] help them whom they had taken as gods besides allah, as a means of nearness [to him]? indeed, they forsook them; that was their lie and what they used to fabricate.

dhaartooda (beenta ah) yey ka dhigteen gaashaan, dadkane waxay ka iileen jidkii eebe, waxay samayna aad buu u xunyahay.
they have chosen their oaths as a shield for them to obstruct others from the way of god. how terrible is what they do!

(xuxuuso) markaad ku lahayd kuu eebe u nicmeeyey, adna aad u nicmaysay (zayd binuxaarithah) hayso haweenaydaada eebana ka yaab, naftaadana aad ku qarinaysay wax eebe muujin, ood kana cabsanaysid dadka (xishoonaysid) eebaana u muta in laga cabsado (lagana xishoodo) markuu zayd dantiisii ka dhamaaystayna (isfureenna) aan kuu guurinay si ayan wax dhib ah u ahaanin mu'miniinta (hadday guursadaan) haweenka ay fureen kuway wiilal ka dhigteen (iyagoo dhalin) amarka eebana waa kii la fuliyo.
(o prophet), call to mind when you said to him whom allah had favoured and you had favoured: “cleave to your wife and fear allah,” and you concealed within yourself for fear of people what allah was to reveal, although allah has greater right that you fear him. so when zayd had accomplished what he would of her, we gave her in marriage to you so that there should not be any constraint for the believers regarding the wives of their adopted sons after they had accomplished whatever they would of them. and allah's command was bound to be accomplished.
