and honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. thus have ye made the commandment of god of none effect by your tradition.

các ngươi bỏ điều răn của Ðức chúa trời, mà giữ lời truyền khẩu của loài người!

sao môn đồ thầy phạm lời truyền khẩu của người xưa? vì họ không rửa tay trước khi ăn.
why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

ngài đáp rằng: còn các ngươi sao cũng vì cớ lời truyền khẩu mình mà phạm điều răn của Ðức chúa trời?
but he answered and said unto them, why do ye also transgress the commandment of god by your tradition?

ngài cũng phán cùng họ rằng: các ngươi bỏ hẳn điều răn của Ðức chúa trời, đặng giữ theo lời truyền khẩu của mình.
and he said unto them, full well ye reject the commandment of god, that ye may keep your own tradition.

dường ấy, các ngươi lấy lời truyền khẩu mình lập ra mà bỏ mất lời Ðức chúa trời. các ngươi còn làm nhiều việc khác nữa giống như vậy.
making the word of god of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

khi họ ở chợ về, nếu không rửa cũng không ăn. họ lại còn theo lời truyền khẩu mà giữ nhiều sự khác nữa, như rửa chén và bình bằng đất hoặc bằng đồng.
and when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. and many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.

hãy giữ chừng, kẻo có ai lấy triết học và lời hư không, theo lời truyền khẩu của loài người, sơ học của thế gian, không theo Ðấng christ, mà bắt anh em phục chăng.
