at the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.

kothi ngaloo mini, ndifune ukuzitshabalalisa zonke iintlanga eziyingenelayo iyerusalem.
and it shall come to pass in that day, that i will seek to destroy all the nations that come against jerusalem.

why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

ask of me, and i shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

ezinye iintlanga ziya kumfuna uyehova kwafika ilizwi likayehova wemikhosi kum, lisithi,
and the word of the lord of hosts came unto me, saying,

baya kuwukhuphela na ngenxa yoko umnatha wabo, bahlale bebulala iintlanga, bangacongi na?
shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?

ulinyathela ilizwe ubhavuma, unyhashe iintlanga unomsindo. uphuma ukuba usindise abantu bakho.
thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst thresh the heathen in anger.

now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon zion.

lwaphuma lwagqiba ilizwe udumo lukadavide; uyehova wazenza zonke iintlanga ukuba zinkwantye nguye.
and the fame of david went out into all lands; and the lord brought the fear of him upon all nations.

defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which i cast out before you:

sithini na ke ngoko? sithi, iintlanga ebezingasukeli bulungisa, zabubamba ubulungisa, ubulungisa ke baselukholweni;
what shall we say then? that the gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

ngenxa enokuba usithi, iintlanga ezi zombini namazwe la omabini ngawam, sowahlutha; ukanti uyehova ukhona;
because thou hast said, these two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the lord was there:

wafunga wathi, ehleli nje uyehova, ngokwenyaniso, ngokusesikweni, nangobulungisa; zozisikelela ngaye iintlanga, ziqhayise ngaye.
and thou shalt swear, the lord liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.
